Saturday's contest will be aired on the brand-new Tarleton Sports Network presented by North Texas Ford Dealers. The game will be broadcasted live on KTRL (90.5 FM) with Casey Hogan calling play-by-play and Andrew Hansen joining him for color commentary. LAST TIME OUT
In a game that came down to the final play from just two yards away from the goal line, Tarleton State dropped another last-second heartbreaker 56-49 in the first round of the LSC Football Playoffs to Texas A&M-Commerce. In his first career start under center, Woerner was 41-57 for a school-record 470 yards and three touchdowns. His 470 yards is the eighth 400-yard game in school history and tops Jake Fenske's mark of 460 yards against Southeastern Oklahoma last season. Meyers and Tandy each topped 100 yards in receiving yards while Rhodes III just missed with 91 yards on seven receptions. Meyers led the team with 145 yards on 15 catches while Tandy posted 134 yards on seven catches.

PRESEASON FAVORITES
Tarleton State was named the Lone Star Conference preseason favorites at Media Day in late July. This is the first time Tarleton was named the preseason favorites of the conference since being chosen to win the LSC South Division in 2006.

TARLETON vs MIDWESTERN STATE
This is the 26th meeting all-time between the Texans and the Mustangs, Tarleton State won eight of the first 10 meetings of the series and has continued the trend winning 10 of the last 15 dating back to 1998. Tarleton leads the series 17-8.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Tarleton State has dominated the series since winning its first game against the Mustangs on Oct. 1, 1988. That win started an 8-2 Tarleton advantage in the series. Tarleton has only lost back-to-back games against Midwestern twice in the series, 1999, 2000 and 2010, 2011.

TEXANS UNDER FOWLER
The Texans are now 26-25 under head coach Cary Fowler and have claimed the school's first LSC title since 2009. Fowler's first LSC championship is just the third LSC championship for the Texans in school history. Fowler is 22-18 against LSC opponents and 4-7 overall against non-conference schools.

TARLETON'S SCORING STREAK
The Texans have now scored a touchdown in 46 straight games dating back to the 2010 season. The last time a Tarleton team was held without a TD came in a 65-3 loss to Abilene Christian back on Sept. 25, 2010. Tarleton has scored at least a field goal or touchdown in 54 straight games heading into Saturday's game. The Texans have not been shutout since Nov. 8, 2008.

WHAT A CATCH
With five receptions against Eastern New Mexico, Rhodes broke a 44-year old school record. Tarleton Hall of Fame member Harlan Wunsch, who played from 1967-69, held the record for the previous four decades with 188 career receptions.

NEW LEADER IN RECEIVING YARDS
With 82 receiving yards in a win against McMurry, Clifton Rhodes III broke his second career record by passing Devin Guinn (2006-09) for the honor of all-time receiving yardage leader in Tarleton history. His 82 yards against McMurry gave him 2,615 yards in his career to pass Guinn's 2,613. Rhodes  has since extend his career total to 2,732.
