Tarleton State Football’s Rodecap elected as AEMA Board President

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Tarleton State Football Director of Football Equipment Will Rodecap has been elected as the Athletic Equipment Managers Association Board President, the AEMA announced.

Rodecap, who enters his second season as the Texans' Director of Football Equipment, will begin his term as Board President immediately following the 2026 AEMA Convention later this month. As Board President, Rodecap will work alongside the Board of Directors, committees, volunteers, and staff to advance AEMA's mission of supporting and elevating athletic equipment managers through education, certification, networking, advocacy, and professional development.

"Will brings a deep understanding of our profession, a strong commitment to service, and a passion for the future of AEMA," Executive Director of AEMA Ann Kitt-Carpenetti said. "His experience, leadership, and dedication to our members will help guide the Association as we continue to strengthen programs, expand member value, and advance the equipment management profession."

Joining the Texans in February 2025, Rodecap played a critical behind-the-scenes role during one of the best seasons in Tarleton State Football history. The Texans finished the 2025 campaign with a 12-2 record, with the 12 wins matching the most in a single season in program history. The season included an FBS win at Army, a regular season conference championship and the Texans' highest seed ever in the FCS Playoffs. Tarleton State was the first FCS team since 1993 (Troy) to make the quarterfinals in its first two seasons of playoff eligibility (8+ team format in FCS).

Across the last 30 years, Rodecap has titles such as Head Athletic Equipment Manager and Assistant Equipment Manager. He has supported the daily process of ordering for programs such as Kansas State (2011-25), Kansas (2008-11), Colorado State (1998-2005), and Tulsa (1995-98). He has worked 19 bowl games, including the 1997 Cotton Bowl, 1997 Fiesta Bowl, 2012 Cotton Bowl, 2013 Fiesta Bowl, and 2022 Sugar Bowl.

"I am honored by the trust and confidence placed in me by the membership," Rodecap said. "AEMA plays a vital role in supporting equipment managers at every level of athletics, and I look forward to working with our members, Board, volunteers, and staff to continue building on the Association's strong foundation while creating new opportunities for growth and engagement."

AEMA promotes, advances, and improves the equipment managers profession in all phases. Members of the AEMA enjoy the opportunity to meet fellow equipment managers at conventions, share ideas, and learn more efficient techniques to help improve their work place.

Rodecap will formally recognize Rodecap's election during the 2026 AEMA Convention, June 14–17, in Covington, Kentucky.
