THE GAME
This is the first time that Tarleton will face Texas A&M-Commerce twice in one season, having fell to the Lions earlier this season 53-25 on the road in Memorial Stadium. This game will pit the top two teams in points per game and total offense against each other in what could become a high-scoring track meet.

COVERING THE GAME
Saturday's contest will be aired on the brand-new Tarleton Sports Network presented by North Texas Ford Dealers. The game will be broadcasted live on KTRL (90.5 FM) with

LAST TIME OUT
Tarleton State had its three-game winning streak snapped on a last minute touchdown by Angelo State in a 34-31 heartbreaker at Memorial Stadium Saturday night. The Texans, who entered the fourth quarter with a 24-13 lead, were outscored 21-7 in the final frame with the game-winning strike coming from four yards out with 00:31 seconds left to give Angelo State the No. 2 seed in the LSC playoffs and Tarleton State the No. 4 seed.

TARLETON vs TEXAS A&M-COMMERCE
This is the 23rd meeting all-time between the Texans and Lions, A&M-Commerce won the first eight meetings of the series but Tarleton has won 11 of the last 14 dating back to 1997. The series is currently tied 11-11.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Tarleton State has dominated the series since winning its first game against the Lions on Nov. 15, 1997. That win started an 11-3 Tarleton advantage in the series Also, the 49 points Tarleton scored on Commerce in their first win on Nov. 15, 1997 was equal to the number of points Tarleton scored combined in all six of the 1970-era games played against Commerce.

OFFENSIVE EXPLOSION
Tarleton State and Texas A&M-Commerce are the only two teams in the Lone Star Conference to amass over 4,000 yards of total offense. Tarleton is second with 4,099 total yards while A&M-Commerce leads the LSC with 4,757 total yards.

TEXANS IN THE LSC
The Texans are 102-137 (.426) all-time against opponents in the LSC. Tarleton had won six straight LSC games dating back to last season before a 22-20 loss to A&M-Commerce on Oct. 26. The Texans finished the 2013 season at 5-1 in LSC play en route to the school's third LSC title.

TARLETON'S SCORING STREAK
The Texans have now scored a touchdown in 45 straight games dating back to the 2010 season. The last time a Tarleton team was held without a TD came in a 65-3 loss to Abilene Christian back on Sept. 25, 2010. Tarleton has scored at least a field goal or touchdown in 53 straight games heading into Saturday's game. The Texans have not been shutout since Nov. 8, 2008.

WHAT A CATCH
With five receptions against Eastern New Mexico, Rhodes broke a 44-year old school record. Tarleton Hall of Fame member Harlan Wunsch, who played from 1967-69, held the record for the previous four decades with 188 career receptions.

NEW LEADER IN RECEIVING YARDS
With 82 receiving yards in a win against McMurry,
Clifton Rhodes III broke his second career record by passing Devin Guinn (2006-09) for the honor of all-time receiving yardage leader in Tarleton history. His 82 yards against McMurry gave him 2,615 yards in his career to pass Guinn's 2,613. Rhodes added 26 receiving yards in the loss to Angelo State to extend his career total to 2,641.

Clifton Rhodes III is on pace to become one of the best wide receivers to ever don the purple and white. Entering Saturday's game, here is where he stands:
• With nine career 100-yard receiving games under his belt, Rhodes is two 100-yard receiving games away from passing Devin Guinn (10) for the all-time lead.
• With 23 career touchdown receptions, he is currently third all-time in Tarleton history after passing Will Moody (2000-03) with a 55-yard touchdown catch versus McMurry. He is currently behind Jeremy Madkins (2003-06) with 25 and Devin Guinn (2006-09) with 26.

In just his junior season,
Blake Barnes is making a case to go down alongside Tarleton Hall of Famer J.W. Boren as two of the top kickers in Tarleton history.
• FG Att: Barnes now has attempted 54 field goals in his career to move into second-place all-time by passing Paul Williams (2004-06) with 47. He is 30 attempts shy of passing Boren (83) for the all-time lead.
• FG Made: Entering Saturday's game with 39 career field goals, he is two makes away from passing Williams for second all-time (40). Barnes is 21 field goals away from becoming the all-time leader and passing Boren (59).
• PAT Att: He is also in second-place all-time in PATs attempted (120), after passing Paul Williams (94) during his run of 11-11 PATs against Kingsville on Oct. 11. He is 29 extra points away from the all-time record, held by Boren (148)
• PAT Made: In PATs made, Barnes is second all-time with 119 and is 18 extra points away from passing Boren (136) as the all-time leader.
