STEPHENVILLE –
Charles Moore was named a first-team safety on the Daktronics All-Super Region Four Team Wednesday afternoon.
On the field, Moore led the Texans with five interceptions and was fourth on the team with 76 total tackles. He also had five pass breakups and recovered a fumble en route to being named first-team all-conference.
The senior safety has been making headlines all season for his efforts on the field and in the classroom, including earlier today when he was named a First-Team Capital One Academic All-American in Division II by CoSIDA.
Moore, who was also named one of 17 National Football Foundation Scholar-Athletes last month, will be traveling to New York Monday to take part in the presentation ceremony of the William V. Campbell trophy, presented to the nation's top academic football player from all levels.
The senior from Carrollton maintains a 3.83 grade point average as a Kinesiology major and will be named the Kinesiology department's outstanding graduate when he receives his undergraduate degree later this month. He was also an academic all-conference selection by the Lone Star Conference.
He is one of five Lone Star Conference players to be named a first-team all-region selection and one of just two players representing the LSC on the first-team defense.
