The No. 4 Tarleton State Texans (20-1, 9-1 LSC) welcome the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas (8-14, 3-7 LSC) to Wisdom Gym this Saturday, Feb. 15, for another Lone Star Conference showdown that will be televised nationally on CSN-Houston. Tip-off between the two teams will be at 7:05 p.m. in Stephenville.

Tarleton State Basketball will be broadcast live on KSTV (93.1 FM) throughout the season.

Series Information
Tarleton leads the all-time series 33-22 after downing the Javelinas 103-84 in Kingsville earlier this season. The Texans have won nine of the past 10 contests, which includes a 4-0 mark when facing TAMUK in Stephenville.

Lonn Reisman is 28-11 overall when facing the Javelinas and his teams are 17-3 all-time when playing inside Wisdom Gym. TAMUK has not won in Stephenville since Feb. 25, 2009.

Last Time out for the Texans
Tarleton overcame a 16.7 percent effort from beyond the arc to down Angleo State 72-64 Wednesday night in San Angelo. The Texans shot just 52.0 percent from the charity stripe as well, but the purple and white gave up just seven turnovers and poured in 18 points off 14 ASU miscues.

Scouting the JavelinaS
Texas A&M-Kingsville is coming off a 75-74 home win over A&M-Commerce Thursday night. Despite the win, the Javelinas have lost three of its past six contests and seven of its last ten.

As a team, the Javelinas are shooting 43.8 percent from the floor, which ranks sixth in the Lone Star Conference. TAMUK is shooting 36.0 percent from downtown and 67.9 percent from the charity stripe.

Rashad Basey leads the Javelinas and ranks second in the LSC with a 16.9 points per game average. Jordan Jahr leads TAMUK on the boards with 5.6 rebounds per game and he has a team-high 20 blocks on the season as well.

Texans in the NABC Poll
The Tarleton State men's basketball team dropped to No. 4 in the nation this week, falling just two spots from last week's No. 2 ranking after going 1-1 this past week.

The Texans have been ranked inside the NABC Top-25 for 80 different weeks since making its first-ever appearance in the poll back on Dec. 17, 2002. Including this week, Tarleton has been ranked inside the top 10 for 48 different weeks and has been a top five team for 31 weeks.

Reisman notches career-win No. 550
Tarleton head coach
Lonn Reisman earned his 550th career win on Wednesday when the Texans downed Angelo State 72-64 in San Angelo. Reisman, who is in his 26th season at Tarleton, is now 550-227 all-time following the epic victory. Reisman became just the 26th coach overall and ninth active NCAA Division II head coach to earn 550 wins. He is the 83rd coach at both the D-1 and D-II levels to achieve the feat.

Tarleton back to a Winning Program
With an 83-81 victory over Midwestern State back on Jan. 15, the Tarleton Texan basketball program became a .500 team for just the second time since becoming a senior college back in 1961.

The Texans dropped its first ever game as a senior college and then won its first contest on Nov. 28, 1961. That was the last time the Texans had been a .500 team before the monumental victory up in Wichita Falls.

A few days after defeating the Mustangs, Tarleton downed Cameron 76-52 in Stephenville to earn its first winning record as a senior college. Heading into Saturday's contest, the Texans are now 730-725 all-time as a senior college.

Leading the LSC
Tarleton leads the conference in 11 of the 21 major statistical categories heading into the weekend. The Texans lead the LSC in such statistical categories as scoring (87.0), scoring defense (64.1) field goal percentage (.494), field goal percentage defense (.399), and three-point percentage (.386).

Texans in the National Rankings
At the beginning of the week, the Texans ranked among the top-25 teams in the nation in 11 statistical categories. Tarleton ranks second in scoring margin at +23.6 ppg, just a few points behind West Liberty, who leads the nation with a scoring margin of +25.1 ppg.

The Texans are eighth in the nation in scoring defense (64.1) and seventh in turnover margin (5.3).

Chuck Guy, who ranks first in the LSC with 5.9 assists per game, ranks 22nd in the nation with that total. His 117 assists on the season ranks 28th overall, while his 3.44 assist/turnover ratio ranks sixth in the nation.

75-Point streak comes to an end
Tarleton's streak of at least 75-points or more in a game came to an end on Wednesday with a 72-64 win over Angelo State. Before the 72-point effort, the Texans had scored at least 75-points or more in its first 20 games of the season.

Tarleton won its 20th game of the season on Wednesday, giving head coach
Lonn Reisman his 15th career 20-win season and his fifth in-a-row. Under Reisman, the Texans have averaged a little more than 21 wins per season over the past 26 years.

Lights, Camera...
Saturday's contest against Texas A&M-Kingsville at Wisdom Gym will be aired before a live national audience on CSN Houston. The nationally televised contest will be Tarleotn's first-ever on-campus TV game for the Texan Basketball program.

Securing the LSC
With a win on Saturday, the Texans could earn no less than the No. 3 seed in the LSC Conference Tournament that will be held in Allen on Mar. 5-8. Tarleton will then have three more conference games to secure the No. 1 seed and win the outright conference championship.

Up next for the Texans
Tarleton will hosts West Texas A&M next Wednesday, Feb. 19, for its final home LSC contest of the regular season. The Texans will then hit the road for Portales, N.M., next Saturday, before returning home on Feb. 25 to host Lubbock Christian in the final home game of the regular season.
