TexAnn Tennis falls in road match at Dallas Baptist

- Box Score

DALLAS –
A 2-1 disadvantage after doubles play was too much for Tarleton to overcome in a road tennis match against Dallas Baptist Saturday as the TexAnns fell 4-5.

Both the No. 1 and No. 2 tandems of Luiza Adas/Ivana Zecevic and Alicia Perez/Makenzie Mitchell dropped their respective matches in tiebreaker fashion as DBU took the top two doubles matches 9-8.

Ellie Stevens and Silvia Nieva gave Tarleton its lone doubles win in the No. 3 match with an 8-1 win.

In singles play, the region's No. 3 ranked player, Perez, handled her business against the region's No. 8 ranked player from DBU 6-1, 6-1. Nieva and Stevens handled their matches in the No. 5 and 6 spots with 6-1, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-1, respectively.

However, Tarleton dropped the No. 2, 3 and 4 matches on the day to ultimately drop the match.

The TexAnns will return home for the final two matches of the regular season, hosting Oral Roberts Friday and Texas A&M-Kingsville Saturday.
