THE GAME
After a 17-day holiday break, Tarleton State will get back to action Saturday afternoon when the TexAnns head to Denton to start Lone Star Conference action against Texas Woman's at 2 p.m. in Kitty Magee Arena.
THE BROADCAST
The game will have a live radio broadcast presented by the Tarleton Sports Network presented by North Texas Ford Dealers. The Voice of the TexAnns, Keltin Wiens, will serve as the play-by-play for Tarleton basketball this season. The radio broadcast can be heard on KTRL 90.5 FM in Stephenville and surrounding areas or online at TarletonSports.com/ListenLive. The pregame show will begin 15 minutes prior to tip-off.
THE OPPONENT
Texas Woman's has opened the season 7-5 with a home-heavy slate over the first two months of the season. The Pioneers played eight of their first 12 games in the friendly confines of Kitty Magee Arena with the four road games at Wichita Falls for a two-game tournament and a pair of games in Puerto Rico. TWU opened the New Year with Lone Star Conference play Thursday when the Pioneers fell to Midwestern State 47-61 in Denton.
TALE OF TWO HALVES FOR TWU
Texas Woman's is outscoring opponents 405-302 in the first half of their games but being outscored 372-425 in the second half.
THE SERIES
Saturday will mark the 39th all-time meeting between these two Lone Star Conference rivals and Tarleton State owns the all-time record 27-11. Of the 38 previous meetings, 17 of them have been played in Denton and Tarleton is just 8-9 against the Pioneers in Denton.
FAMILIAR START TO LSC
This is the third straight season that Tarleton State has opened its LSC slate against the Pioneers. The TexAnns won the last two LSC-openers when starting against the Pioneers.
ABOUT TEXAS WOMAN'S UNIVERSITY
Located in Denton, Texas, Texas Woman's University was founded in 1901 as the Girls Industrial College. The name was changed to Texas Woman's University in 1957 and began admitting men to the university in 1972. It currently enrolls over 15,000 students and sponsors five NCAA sports - basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, soccer and softball.
TARLETON IN THE LSC
Tarleton State has developed into one of the premier basketball programs in the nation, as well as within the Lone Star Conference. In addition to being a perennial national power with five straight trips to the national playoffs, Tarleton has also become a premier team in the Lone Star Conference. The TexAnns earned their first league championship in 2012 and reached the finals of the LSC Championship Tournament for the second time in three years last season. Since joining the LSC as an NCAA institution in 1994, the TexAnns have a record of 162-138 against conference foes, including five seasons - four consecutive - of over 10 conference wins.
MILESTONE WATCH
•With 212 career assists,
Morgan Ashmore is currently 14th all-time in TexAnn history and is three (3) assists away from passing Stephanie Upshaw (214) for 13th place all-time. She is nine (9) dimes from passing Karla Dick (220) for the No. 12 spot.

Raven McGrath is 15 points away from reaching 300 points in her Tarleton career.
RINGING IN THE NEW YEAR
Tarleton has won the first game of the new calendar year in six consecutive seasons. In those six games to ring in the New Year, Tarleton is outscoring its opponents 83.5 to 53.2.
WILSON IN JANUARY
Misty Wilson has helped Tarleton find success in the month of January, leading the TexAnns to a record of 79-62 since becoming affiliated with the program as a player in 1998. Tarleton was 15-31 during Wilson's time as a player and graduate assistant, but since Wilson became the full time assistant in the 2003-04 season, Tarleton has turned it around and is now 64-31 (.674) in the year's first month. Since the 2010-11 season, Wilson and the TexAnns are 28-5 in the month of January.
LINEUP SHUFFLE
The TexAnns have used six different starting lineups over the first eight games. Only
Kathy Thomas,
Karli Moore and
Ikpeaku Iwobi have started all eight games for the TexAnns this season.

Tarleton State ranks among the nations best in multiple statistical categories, including:
