No. 9 Texans travel to Kingsville for Saturday night bout with Javelinas

THE GAME
No. 9 Tarleton will go on the road for the first time in Lone Star Conference play as they face Texas A&M-Kingsville on Saturday, Jan. 9 at 8 p.m.
 
THE BROADCAST
Each game will have a live radio broadcast presented by the Tarleton Sports Network presented by North Texas Ford Dealers. The Voice of the Texans, Casey Hogan, will be back calling the play-by-play for Tarleton basketball this season. THE OPPONENT: TEXAS A&M-KINGSVILLE
Kingsville is 8-4 on the season and 0-1 in the LSC. The Javelinas have already matched last season's win total (8-19) under second-year head coach Johnny Estelle. TAMUK lost its first LSC game to A&M-Commerce and comes in having lost 2 of 3. The Javelinas are 4-0 at home this season.
 
THE SERIES: TEXAS A&M-KINGSVILLE
Tarleton leads the all-time series against TAMUK 32-12. The Texans have won the last four against the Javelinas and 12 of 13. Tarleton is 10-9 all time at Kingsville.
 
TARLETON ON THE ROAD
This is the first true road game for the Texans this season, with both games away from Wisdom Gym were neutral sites in Las Vegas. The Texas have gone 12-2 in LSC road games in the last two seasons.
 
LEADING THE CONFERENCE
EJ Reed leads the Lone Star Conference in scoring (19.9 points per game) and rebounding (9.1). Michael Hardge is tops in steals (1.9) and minutes (32.0). As a team, the Texans lead the LSC in scoring defense (64.3) points allowed.

Reisman comes into the game with 601 wins. Reisman became the 6th active Division II head coach with 600 career wins and the 16th Division II coach to win 600 games in a career. With 3 more wins, Reisman will pass Dave Boots (Ausburg, 603 wins) for 15th on the all-time wins list.
