LAWTON, Okla. – A four-run third inning by Cameron Monday afternoon proved too much to overcome as the Texans fell 4-1 to the Aggies in the series finale at McCord Field.
Â
Cameron struck first with their four-run inning, which turned out to be the only scoring that the combination of
Blain Bagley and
Zach Freeman would allow in eight innings of pitching work. Bagley went the first six innings, allowing the four runs on seven hits and a walk with five strikeouts. Freeman pitched the final two innings of three-hit ball while striking out a pair.
Â
The Tarleton offense mustered one run, which came when
Alec Humphreys scored on a passed back in the fourth inning, one seven total hits for the contest.
Jake Hasbrouck and
Dalton Richardson led the way with two hits each while Humphreys,
Landon Thompson, and
Forrest Perron had the rest of Tarleton's offense.
Â
The Texans left just one runner on base in three of the final five innings of the game.
Â
Tarleton will remain on the road for a four-game series at Texas A&M-Kingsville, beginning Friday at Nolan Ryan Field.
