DENVER, Colo. – Tarleton Tennis completed its sweep of this weekend's road trip through Colorado as the TexAnns defeated Metro State 7-2.

"We were some 'wounded warriors' and our girls gave great effort today," said head coach
Lance Drake. "We got a big win in No. 3 doubles to go up 2-1. Our girls did a great job of keeping momentum and not letting Metro State pick up steam."

The TexAnns jumped out to a 2-1 advantage in doubles action when
Luiza Ferraro-Adas and
Elena Preadca handled the No. 2 match 8-3 while
Ellie Stevens and Taylor Porter won the No. 3 match 8-4. This is the second match of the season in the No. 2 position for Ferraro-Adas and Preadca as they improve to 2-0 in the No. 2 matches this season and 11-5 overall.

In singles play, Tarleton was dominant – taking five of six from the Roadrunners.

Luiza Ferraro-Adas handled the No. 3 match 6-1, 2-1 before winning by retirement. Meanwhile,
Ellie Stevens and
Elena Preadca won the No. 4 and No. 5 matches by identical 6-3, 6-1 scores.
Erika Richarme took care of business in the No. 2 match while
Ashleigh Elward battled back from a first-set loss to take the No. 1 match 3-6, 6-3, 10-5.

Tarleton will hit the road again on April 6 with a road trip to Wichita Falls for a Lone Star Conference match against Midwestern State at 2 p.m.
