THE GAME
Tarleton takes a quick break from Lone Star Conference action and welcomes St. Mary's to Cecil Ballow Complex for a non-conference game against the Rattlers on Wednesday, April 6 at 3 p.m.

THE TEXANS
Tarleton is 14-18 on the season and 8-12 in Lone Star Conference play. The Texans are one game behind Cameron for the final playoff spot for the LSC Tournament. Alec Humphreys leads Tarleton's offense with a .336 batting average and a team-high 21 RBI. Trevor Renfro is the Texans' ace, coming in with a 2.89 ERA in 56 innings pitched and 57 strikeouts while holding opponents to a .231 batting average.
 
THE OPPONENT
St. Mary's is 19-14 on the season and 6-6 in the Heartland Conference. The Rattlers 2-4 on the road this season and lost its last two road series. St. Mary's is hitting .321 as a team and is led by Jack Kaiser's .375 average and team-highs in home runs (6) and RBI (38). Ty Miles fronts the Rattlers' rotation with a 3-2 record and 2.92 ERA in 52 innings.
 
THE SERIES
Tarleton trails the all-time series with St. Mary's 18-37 but have had recent success against the Rattlers. Tarleton has played STMU three times this season, winning two of three. The Texans have won six of the last eight games against the Rattlers.
 
LAST TIME OUT
Tarleton split a four-game series with Angelo State, including winning the series finale on a walk-off RBI single by Dylan Kuhn in the 10th inning. The Texans won the series opener on a four-hitter by Jacob French and Zach Freeman.
 
UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
The Texans host West Texas A&M for a three-game series starting Friday, April 8 at 3 p.m. followed by a Saturday doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
