STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton women's basketball won its third straight game after cruising past UT-Permian Basin, 67-40, on Saturday in Wisdom Gym.

The TexAnns (8-8, 7-3) led the entire game and built a 33-point lead in the second half in the dominating win. It's the largest margin of victory for the TexAnns in LSC play this season.

Bailey Wipff led all scorers with 17 points and did most of her damage in the first five minutes of the game as Wipff had 10 of the first 13 points to help Tarleton build an early 13-5 lead. The TexAnns were up 16-8 after the first quarter.

Mackenzie Hailey's layup gave Tarleton a 10-point lead at 20-10 and the TexAnns never allowed the game under double digits from there. Hailey finished with eight points and five rebounds on the night. The TexAnns took a 30-19 lead into the locker room after shooting 37 percent in the first half and connecting on six 3-pointers. UTPB shot 28 percent and had a dozen turnovers in the half.

Tarleton opened the third quarter on a 19-2 run that lasted seven and a half minutes.
Ikpeaku Iwobi started the second-half stretch with a mid-range jumper and had six of the 19 points during the run. Iwobi finished with 14 points and nine rebounds.
Kylie Collins' 3-pointer gave Tarleton a 20-point lead at 41-21 with 7:33 left. Five minutes later, the score stretched to a 30-point game on a pair of
Shelby Mankins free throws. Mankins posted a career-high 10 points.
Tarleton went 9-of-10 from the free-throw line in the third quarter and was 16-of-19 on the game.

10 TexAnns went on to score in the game with six players recording three points each:

Kylie Collins,
Travanti Downes,
Baylee Peck,
Reann Hall and
Amber Lane. Peck recorded a game-high four assists in the win.

Tarleton forced UTPB into 25 turnovers that resulted in 34 points for the TexAnns.
