Alamosa, Colorado – Tarleton's track and field teams wrapped up the final day at the 2017 Lone Star Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, with five medals and two new school records.

Zachary Pratt took home the silver medal in the shot put, setting a new indoor school record with a throw of 54-04.75. Pratt broke a record that came in 2015, when Kenny Odunaiya threw 53-2.25.

Dalton Stidham also set a new school record in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.17. The junior from Boyd finished with a silver medal, surpassing his own mark of 8.18 set in 2016.

The Texans had three of the top eight finishes in three running events on the day.
Johen Deleon finished fifth in the mile run with a time of 4:39.41, he also finished eighth in the 3000-meter run with a time of 9:34.52.
Randall Kadlacek had a time of 8.38 in the 60-meter hurdles, which gave him sixth place.

On the women's side,
Ashley Johnson,
Roxana Hernandez, and the 4x400m relay team all took home a bronze medal Sunday afternoon. Johnson finished the 400-meter run with a time of 58.27, while Hernandez competed in the high jump with her final jump being 5-06.00. The TexAnns 4x400m relay team (
Ashley Johnson,
Ariel Ballard,
Kara Bickham, and
Arianna Stegall), finished with a time of 4:01.88.

Katelin Huckabee had a time of 5:48.76 in the mile run, while
Amy Riera had a time of 12:14.81 in the 3000-meter run. Both ladies finished fifth in their runs at the meet.
Andelynn Carlton placed eighth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:32.51.

Tarleton men and women's track and field will compete in the NCAA Indoor Championships meet on Friday Mar. 10 and Saturday Mar. 11 in Birmingham, Alabama.
