Cox breaks school record to propel Texans at Clyde Hart Classic

WACO, Tex. — Senior Ca'terrin Cox broke his own school record in the 110 hurdles to lead Tarleton State Track and Field in their second meet of the outdoor season at the Clyde Hart Classic hosted by Baylor on Friday and Saturday.

The Texans broke one school record and set 10 new program top 10 performance bests. In addition, the Purple and White had five top three finishers in their event. So far this outdoor season, the Texans have set three new school records and 15 total top 10 program bests.

"Today, we took a progressive step forward as a program this weekend," said head coach Bobby Carter. "I want to highlight the school record in the 110 hurdles. It is a pretty good performance and a reflection of the work being put in day in and day out. At the same time, we're not chasing marks or times in March. We're building towards being at our best when it counts. There's intent behind everything we're doing right now. We're moving in the right direction, but we're not where we need to be yet. There's more work ahead, and this team understands that. We'll stay focused, stay hungry, and continue to raise our standards as we move forward."

Saturday
Cox tied the school record in the 110 hurdles in 2024 and broke it on Saturday afternoon in his season debut.
