EUGENE, Ore. —
Victoria Cameron,
Prestina Ochonogor and
Lauren Roy are set to begin on Thursday at the 2026 NCAA Division I Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field.
The Texans are making their second appearance in program history in Oregon at the D1 Outdoor championships in their second season of NCAA postseason eligibility. All three athletes are making their second-consecutive trip to Oregon with Roy making her first appearance as an individual in the 200 meters after competing as a member of the 4x100 meter relay squad a year ago. Ochonogor and Cameron each return to the field in the same events as last season in the long jump and 100 meters, respectively.
The Texans are the only members of the WAC to send any athletes in either gender to the NCAA National Championships. Tarleton State joins Central Arkansas as future members of the UAC with athletes competing in Oregon.
Cameron will be the first to compete in the 100 meters semifinals on Thursday at 6:25 pm. Ochonogor will compete in the long jump at 6:40 pm with a national champion being crowned. The Benin, Nigeria, native, is one of seven athletes from a mid-major competing in the 24-women field. She is one of seven overall returners in back-to-back outdoor championships and is one of four that reached the finals a year ago.
Cameron looks to repeat as a First Team All-American after a third-place performance at the indoor championships in the 60 meters. Cameron placed ninth in the 100-meter finals at the NCAA Championships last year in Eugene, Ore. This year, she enters 11
th in the field of 24 and is one of two athletes from a non-Power Four program. Cameron is one of 12 in the field that competed in last year's NCAA Championship 100 meters. Seven of the nine athletes that reached the final including Cameron, return for the 2026 edition.
