STEPHENVILLE, Texas —Tarleton State Women's Track and Field sprinter
Victoria Cameron was named a CSC Second Team All-American for her championship efforts on the track and in the classroom, the CSC announced on Wednesday.
Cameron is one of 45 NCAA Division I Track and Field and Cross Country athletes selected to the first, second or third team, with 15 in each tier. The Stephenville native is one of 13 individuals to have received the All-American honor in back-to-back seasons where she was tabbed to the third team a year ago. She is one of six women that were named to the third team last year that were selected to the first or second team this year.
The junior is one of 25 athletes in Tarleton State history to earn a CSC Academic All-American recognition at the Division I or II level. She is one of three athletes in program history to win back-to-back honors accompanied by Lara Woods (2001-02) and Georgia Capell (2019-20). Cameron and Woods are the only women's track athletes to earn back-to-back selections and are two of the three total track athletes to earn the honor as a Texan.
"We're incredibly proud of
Victoria Cameron for earning Second Team CSC Academic All-America honors," said head coach Bobby Carter. "This recognition speaks to the discipline, consistency, and commitment it takes to excel both in the classroom and at the highest level of collegiate athletics. We talk often about developing complete student-athletes, and this honor is a reflection of that standard. Victoria has represented our program with excellence, integrity, and a relentless work ethic, and this recognition is well deserved!"
The junior earned a pair of All-American recognitions on the track this year as well. In the indoor season, Cameron made her second consecutive trip to the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in the 60 meters. She earned her first First Team All-American honor placing third overall in the 60. Cameron then followed up that performance also punching her ticket for the second-straight year to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore. She posted the ninth fastest time in the prelims but placed 10th overall, earning Second Team All-American honors for the second consecutive year.
Not only did Cameron excel at the national level in 2026, but she also added a few more WAC honors to her trophy case. She was named the WAC Female Indoor Athlete of the Year after winning the title in the 60 meters. Not only did she her second consecutive 60-meter crown, but she ran the fastest time in the NCAA at that point in 7.08 seconds to set the new WAC All-time record. Her 7.08 second run ranks as the 10th best personal best all-time in the NCAA. She posted three marks at 7.09 or better in the indoor slate, the only female NCAA athlete to accomplish that in 2026.
In her season debut in the 100 meters in March at the Texas Relays, Cameron set a new WAC All-time record and Tarleton State school record clocking in at 11.01 seconds. At the time of the conclusion of her race, she had the 2026 world lead. However, she became the second fastest in the world that stood for a few weeks, after Olympian Gabby Thomas clocked in at 11.00 seconds in the very next heat.
