ABOUT THE TEXANS
Tarleton is 3-1 on the season and off to its best start in Lone Star Conference play since 2013 at 2-0 following last weekend's 30-20 victory over West Texas A&M. Tarleton is averaging 31 points per game on 347.3 yards of offense. QuarterbackÂ

ABOUT THE FALCONS
UT Permian Basin is coming off a historic win in the history of its program as the Falcons went on the road to defeat Western New Mexico 41-32 for their first win of the season as well as the program's first-ever road win and Lone Star Conference win. The Falcons are averaging 18.8 points per game while allowing 42 per contest. Since LSC play began, however, the Falcons are scoring 23.5 points per game and allowing 24.5 points. Brandon Infiesto leads their ground game with 159 rushing yards and a touchdown on 39 carries while Kameron Mathis leads the passing game with 579 yards and three touchdowns. Jake Anglin leads the receivers with 188 yards on 14 receptions while Chris Hoad is the LSC's second-leading tackler with 50 stops.

SERIES HISTORY
This is the second-ever meeting between UT Permian Basin and Tarleton and the first game ever played in Odessa in the series since the Falcons started their program in 2016. Tarleton topped UTPB 48-20 in the first-ever meeting in Stephenville last year. UTPB Head Coach Justin Carrigan spent the previous five years at Tarleton before leaving for Odessa to start the Falcon program.
