THE GAME
Looking to rebound from a season-opening loss at Delta State, Tarleton will make its home debut tonight against Oklahoma Panhandle State at 7 p.m. looking for its first win of the season. Tonight's game marks the first Tarleton will play on the brand-new CoolPlay Turf, which was installed as the first phase of the Memorial Stadium Renovation project.

RETIRING NO. 34
Tarleton football legend Tally Neal will officially have his No. 34 jersey retired in a halftime ceremony Saturday night. Neal was a two-time NAIA All-American and has been inducted into the Tarleton Hall of Fame as an individual and as a member of the 1977-78 football teams. He holds the school record of 613 tackles and was a three-time Higgs MVP award winner. Neal will be presented with a framed No. 34 jersey and a replica of the framed jersey will be on display in Tarleton's new stadium beginning next year.

TICKET INFORMATION
The Tarleton State Ticket Office is open from 1:30-4 p.m. in the main lobby of Wisdom Gym and can be reached by telephone at 254-968-1832. Cash, check, and cards are all accepted. Football tickets can be purchased at the main ticket office in Wisdom Gym but the day of a football game, tickets can be purchased at the football ticket window on the west side (Harbin St.) of Tarleton Memorial Stadium. Tarleton's Stephenville Campus Students receive free admission to all home games with valid Stephenville Campus Student ID.

ABOUT THE TEXANS
Tarleton opened the season last weekend with the longest season-opening road trip in school history. The Texans traveled over 500 miles to play Delta State and suffered a 34-16 loss. Tarleton's
Zed Woerner passed Steve Kelly (51) for the second-most touchdown passes all-time (52).

ABOUT THE AGGIES
Oklahoma Panhandle is in its first year back at the NAIA level after spending the last two seasons as a Lone Star Conference affiliate member in football. The Aggies are 1-0 on the season after shutting out McMurry in a 10-0 victory last weekend.

INSIDE THE SERIES
This is the fourth meeting in the last three years between Tarleton and Oklahoma Panhandle. Over that span, Tarleton is 3-0 against the Aggies including a 45-26 victory in Goodwell last year. The series began with a home-and-home series over 1985-86, which were OPSU's only two wins of the series. The teams met again in 1992 and Tarleton won 31-7 to start a run of four consecutive wins over Panhandle heading into tonight's game.

Tarleton will hit the road to begin Lone Star Conference play as the Texans head to San Angelo for a Saturday kickoff at Angelo State at 6 p.m.
