THE GAME
Tarleton returns home for the first time since the season opener to host UT Permian Basin in Lone Star Conference football action at 7 p.m. in Memorial Stadium. In addition to being Family Weekend in Stephenville, it is also the inaugural Legends Game at Tarleton. The Texans will welcome back the 2001 Football Team and recognize their accomplishments at halftime.

LEGENDS GAME
Tarleton have its inaugural Legends Game and recognize the 2001 Texan Football Team during a halftime celebration. The 2001 Texan Football team is one of the most decorated teams to ever don the purple and white. Led by then-third year head coach
Todd Whitten, Tarleton won a share of the Lone Star Conference and South Division Championships and advanced to the NCAA playoffs for the first time in program history. Tarleton defeated Chadron State in its first-ever NCAA postseason game 28-24 to advance to the national quarterfinals. That team boasts 16 all-conference players, the LSC Offensive Back of the Year, the LSC Offensive Lineman of the Year, the LSC Defensive Back of the Year, the LSC Freshman of the Year, the LSC Coach of the Year, and two Tarleton Athletics Hall of Famers.

TICKET INFORMATION
Single game reserved tickets are $15 while general admission tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students. All Stephenville-Campus Tarleton students with a valid ID receive free admission. There will be three ticket booths available to fans, one each on the North and South ends of the stadium and a third under the current press box on the east side. All gates will open at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The ticket booth under the press box on the east side is home to visitor will call tickets while the south end by the Tarleton Field House will host the home will call tickets.

ABOUT THE TEXANS
Texan Football improved to 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in Lone Star Conference play after going to Kimbrough Memorial Stadium in Canyon Saturday night and throttling West Texas A&M 44-7. It was the largest victory by Tarleton over West Texas A&M since 2001. Juniors

Daniel McCants (RB) earned LSC weekly honors for their efforts in the win. Robinson intercepted two passes to move into a tie atop the LSC leaderboard in picks while
Daniel McCants had a huge momentum shift with a 96-yard kickoff return for a touchdown as time expired in the opening half. On the year, Tarleton is scoring 44.0 points per game and holding opponents to 10.0. McCants leads the ground attack with 196 yards on 28 carries while QB
Ben Holmes leads the way through the air with 390 yards and two touchdowns on 21-33 passing.
Zimari Manning has both receiving scores with 197 receiving yards. Defensively, the Texans are led by
Ed Hayes' 14 tackles and Robinson's three interceptions.

ABOUT THE FALCONS
UT Permian Basin enters year three of its young program looking to turn the corner into a conference contender. Despite being 0-3, the Falcons have put up fights against quality opponents including FCS Texas Southern and Division II No. 7 Midwestern State. Marquis Simmons leads the offense on the ground with 232 rushing yards while QBs Sam Allen (345) and Taylor Null (300) have combined for 645 yards through the air. Defensively, the Falcons boast one of the nation's top defensive linemen as John O'Kelley comes into the game with 8.5 tackles for a loss and 6.0 sacks through the first three games of the season.

SERIES HISTORY
This is the third-ever meeting between UT Permian Basin and Tarleton and the second game ever played in Stephenville in the series since the Falcons started their program in 2016. Tarleton topped UTPB 48-20 in the inaugural meeting in 2016 before winning 32-17 in Odessa last season. UTPB Head Coach Justin Carrigan spent his previous five years at Tarleton before leaving for Odessa to start the Falcon program.

Tarleton will hit the road for a crucial Lone Star Conference showdown in San Angelo next weekend. The Texans will face the Angelo State Rams at LeGrand Stadium at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
