Tennis Match Day: Texan Tennis treks to Arkansas for three matches in three days

THE MATCHES
Tarleton Women's Tennis will head to Arkansas this weekend for three matches in two different cities. The Texans will go up against Ouachita Baptist at 4 p.m. on Thursday afternoon in Arkadelphia. Tarleton will then head to Searcy for their final two matches of the weekend. The Texans take on host Harding at 1 p.m. on Friday and Arkansas Tech at 11 a.m. on Saturday in a neutral site match.

ABOUT THE TEXANS
Tarleton is 2-2 on the season, including 1-1 against NCAA Division II opponents. Tarleton is coming off a road trip to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where they played two in-region opponents. The Texans defeated Northeastern Oklahoma 4-3 and fell to No. 9 Central Oklahoma in their first match of the year against a nationally-ranked opponent. Celia Vaudiau leads the team with a singles record of 3-1 while the tandem of Nathalie Ulander and Vaudiau lead the team in doubles with a 2-2 record.
 
BARBAROUX RANKED BY ITA
Senior Alicia Barbaroux leads the group as the team's lone senior. The native of France is a two-time All-LSC and the 2018 LSC Player of the Year. She enters the season as the No. 35-ranked individual in the nation by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) and has five career wins against nationally-ranked opponents. She is also ranked No. 3 in the South Central region.
 
UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
Tarleton will head to Florida March 9th to play four matches in three different cities during spring break. The Texans will enter Lone Star Conference action on March 13th in their match against UT Tyler.
