STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton is wasting no time in opening the eyes of national voters across the country in their debut season at FCS Division I as the Texans moved to No. 24 in the latest National Top 25 poll released by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Tuesday.
 
Tarleton is 4-2 on the season after their rout of longtime rival Midwestern State on Homecoming in Stephenville last weekend. The Texans have defeated Division I foes Dixie State and FBS New Mexico State this season.
 
This is the second time Tarleton has been nationally-ranked this season and the first by the AFCA Coaches. The first ranking came in the national media poll presented by Stats Perform FCS where they debuted at No. 22. They have received votes in the media poll every week since.

Tarleton will be home on Saturday to host Northeastern State (OK) at 6 p.m. on Saturday. It will be the annual Legends Game as the Texans pay homage to the 1994 Tarleton Football team, who was the first team to compete as a transitional institution into the NCAA.
