  • This is the first meeting between Tarleton and Boston College in the programs' histories.
  • Boston College has yet to record a 20+ turnovers in a game this season while Tarleton has forced 20+ turnovers from all three of their opponents this season.

  • The winner of Sunday night's game will play in the Paradise Jam championship match on Monday. The opponent will be either Drake or Wyoming. 
  • Freddy Hicks made his season debut on Friday and it was a beauty, going for 26 points (4-7 FG, 18-28 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and three steals. His 28 free throw attempts shattered the program record, a 21-year-old mark, previously held by Brandon Burney on Feb. 3, 2001, against Angelo State. His 18 free throw makes are the third most in program history, just one short of the record, held by Burney in that same game, and Burney on Dec. 28, 1999, against Western Washington. Hicks' 26 points are the most scored by a Texan in a game this season, his 10th career 20+ point game.
  • Over the past two games, Tarleton has shot 66-of-121 (.545) from the field, including 13-of-33 (.394) from beyond the arc. The Texans have won 15 straight games when shooting 50 percent or better, dating back to 2019-20.
  • In the last game, Tarleton forced Belmont into 21 turnovers. The Texans have forced 20+ turnovers in all three games this season. This is Tarleton's longest stretch of forcing 20 turnovers since Nov. 19-30, 2013. At 23.3 turnovers forced per game, that's the tied-fourth best average across all of NCAA Division I. The Texans ranked second in the nation in steals at 14.0 per game.

  • 02 Freddy Hicks: In his 2022-23 season debut, Freddy Hicks recorded a team high 26 points (4-7 FG, 18-28 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and three steals. He shattered the 21-year-old record for most free throw attempts in a single game with 28 trips to the charity stripe. He played all but one minute in the 89-81 win against Belmont in the first round of the Paradise Jam tournament.
  • 05 Lue Williams: Lue Williams played an instrumental part in the win vs. Belmont on Friday, scoring 16 points (5-12 FG, 6-8 FT), six rebounds and two steals. 
  • 03 Shamir Bogues: Shamir Bogues, the WAC All-Defensive Team member, scored 14 points (6-10 FG, 1-1 3PT, 1-3 FT) in the victory over Belmont last Friday. He grabbed five rebounds, three assists and two steals while playing 35 minutes of the game.

The Texans will suit up again on Monday to play either Drake or Wyoming. If the Tarleton wins the matchup against Boston College today, they will play at 7 PM CT in the Paradise Jam Championship Game. If Tarleton falls in today's game, they will compete for third place at 4:45 PM CT.
