Texans head to Nebraska to take on the Cornhuskers Tuesday night

ABOUT THE MATCHUP
  • This is the first ever meeting between these two programs. This is the second time Tarleton is playing a Power Five conference program this year, their most in a single-season in team history.
  • Nebraska has lost two straight, but both were on the road. They're 2-0 at home to start the year and have won nine straight at home overall, dating back to last season.
  • Nebraska is coming off of a 24-9 season, their most wins since 2013-14. They advanced to the semifinals of the Big Ten tournament and the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.

  • Tarleton has started 3-1 for the second straight year, Year 2 and 3 of their NCAA Division I era. They're 3-0 at home and 0-1 on the road, the one loss to the SEC's Vanderbilt.

  • Tyler Jackson – Jackson went off in Tarleton's last game for 20 points (5-12 3PT), six rebounds, four assists and three steals. She's scored in 10+ points in every game this season, and in six straight overall, dating back to last year. Her five 3PT makes are tied-most by a Texan in a game in the D1 era.
  • Teresa Da Silva – Da Silva has continued to do it all, going for 12 points, six rebounds and six assists in the last game. She leads the team in scoring (13.3 PPG), is second in rebounding (4.5 RPG), and second in assists (3.5 APG). She's dropped 10+ points in each game this year.
  • Mayra Caicedo – Caicedo scored a career-high 16 points in the last game thanks to a 9-of-13 clip from the stripe. She also added six rebounds, five assists and three steals. The senior leader leads the team at 29.8 minutes per game, averaging the most assists (4.0) and tied-most steals (2.0).
 
NUMBERS TO KNOW
70: The number 70 has been the mark to reach for Tarleton. They've scored 70+ in three of four games this year, resulting in three wins. When scoring 70+ points over the past two seasons, they've went 9-0, and they're 14-1 in the Division I era when SCORING 70+ POINTS IN A GAME.  
 
8.3: Tarleton is averaging 8.3 MORE REBOUNDS PER GAME THAN THEIR OPPONENTS this season. That's the third best rebounding margin in the WAC this year. They're fifth in the WAC in rebounds per game at 41.3. Elise Turrubiates leads the team at 5.0 RPG off the bench.
 
1: This is Tarleton's first ever game against a PROGRAM FROM THE STATE OF NEBRASKA. On the flip side, this is already Nebraska's second game just this year against a team from Texas -- the Cornhuskers beat Houston Christian 79-48 on Nov. 11.
 
13.7: Tarleton has been more of a second half team through four games. In second halves, the Texans have averaged 43.5 points, compared to 29.8 points in first halves, a difference of 13.7 points on average SECOND HALF OVER FIRST HALF.
 
UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
The Texans will have more than a week off before their next game action, which will be Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 5:30 p.m. CT in Macomb, Illinois, at Western Illinois. This is a rematch from a non-conference meeting last year in Stephenville.
