Tarleton State Track and Field announces 2023-24 campaign

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Tarleton State released its 2023-24 schedule Wednesday, as announced by head coach Clay Holland.
 
The Texans will compete in a total of four indoor meets including the WAC Indoor Championships, hosted in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Following the indoor season, the Purple and White will move outdoor where they will compete in nine meets, highlighted by the Joe Gillespie Invitational hosted by the Texans.
 
Tarleton State's indoor season will commence on Dec. 8 when the Texans compete in the Boo Rogers Multi Invitational in Pittsburg, Kansas. The following day, Dec. 9, the Purple and White will stay in Pittsburg and compete in the Crimson and Gold Invitational.
 
After a trip north, the Texans will head west to Albuquerque, New Mexico Jan. 26-27 to open the new year. They will compete in the University of New Mexico Team Open. This will mark the first of two trips to Albuquerque for Tarleton State.
 
Before their second trip out west to New Mexico, the Texans will compete a little closer to home. The Purple and White will travel to Lubbock, Texas where they will compete in the Texas Tech Javis Scott Invitational on Feb. 9-10
 
The Texans will put a wrap on the indoor season Feb. 20-21 when they head back to Albuquerque for the WAC Indoor Championships.
 
After closing out the indoor season out west, the Texans will head to the metroplex for the UTA Invite. The Purple and White will compete in a one-day contest March 7.
 
Tarleton State will make the drive down I-20 the following week where they will participate in the Wes Kittley Invitational March 14-15.
 
Staying close to home for the third straight meet, the Texans will head to Waco, Texas. They will compete in the Clyde Hart Invitational March 22-23.
 
Next up, the Texans will make their way down south to Austin, Texans. The Purple and White will compete in the three-day Texas Relays March 28-30.
 
Following the trip to the Texas Relays, the Texans will head to the land of former Lone Star Conference member Angelo State. They will take part in the David Noble Relays. This event will be a multis only event.
 
After a long road trip to open the outdoor season, the Texans will make their return to the home of the Purple and White where they will host the Joe Gillespie Invitational. The Texans last hosted a meet in 2021.
 
The Texans will hit the road once again after showing out for Texan Nation for three more contests.
 
The Purple and White will head back to Waco, this time for the Michael Johnson Invitational April 19-20.
 
The Texans will head back to Lubbock, this time on the outdoor side of things. They will compete April 26-27 in the Corky/Crofoot Shootout.
 
Following the conclusion of the regular season, the Purple and White will head to the mountains. They Texans will look to bring home some hardware when they compete in the WAC Outdoor Championships in Orem, Utah.
