Texans set to compete in the 2023 WAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Tarleton Track and field travel to the home of the Lumberjacks of Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches this week.
 
The first event will be the women's hammer throw at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday morning, while the women's 1600m relay will conclude the championships on Saturday night.
 
In the pre-championship polls, the men's team was voted to take fourth place while the women were voted to take 11th.

Justin Raines is the back-to-back 60m WAC Indoor Champion and currently holds the fastest time ran in the 100m during the outdoor season with a time of 10.24 seconds. Last year, Raines took seventh in the event as a freshman. Raines also holds the fastest time in the 200m in the WAC, with a time of 20.80 seconds.
 
Everett Sadler goes into the championship week with the third fastest time in the 100m this outdoor season with a time of 10.34 seconds.
 
Hanna Dudley's fastest time this year in the 100m was a time of 11.66 seconds at the Wes Kittley Invitational on March 17th. The time is tied for the sixth fastest time in the WAC. Dudley also holds the seventh fastest time in the WAC in the 200m with a time of 23.93 seconds.
 
Bailey Smotek arrives in Nacogdoches with the second fastest time in the WAC in the 800m. Smotek record a time of 1:50.42 on April 13th at the Carl Kight Invitational.
 
Konnor Hoerman, Caterrin Cox, and Cornelius Coleman have a recorded a time eight time this year in the 110m hurdles. Hoerman ran the third fastest time in the conference with a time of 14.22 seconds. Cox recorded a time of 14.36 seconds for fifth fastest in the conference, while Coleman ran a time 14.65 seconds for eight fastest in the WAC.
 
Noah Newman recorded the second fastest time in the WAC for the 400m hurdles with a time of 53.39 seconds.
 
Jordan Rae has the fourth best recorded jump in the women's high jump this season, with a jump of 1.73m.
 
Gabriele Tosti and Jaden Hall have both recorded jobs in the triple jump that puts them in the top four coming into the championships. Tosti has the second-best jump in the WAC with a jump of 15.46m, while Hall has the fourth best jump with a jump of 15.04m.
 
Elise Smith has the fifth best throw in the javelin competition with a throw of 43.92m.
