STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Tarleton State Volleyball is getting set for success with the announcement of their schedule for the 2023 season.
On Monday, Tarleton State announced their campaign that begins on Aug. 25 in Stephenville at the annual Texan Invitational Tournament.
This season, the Texans will play 16 conference games, eight of those set to take place on the Tarleton campus in Wisdom Volleyball Gym. In addition to conference play, the Texans will compete in four tournaments to kick off the season and will travel to Prairie View A&M for some pre-conference action. The 2023 schedule has the Texans in a pattern set to play at home for two games then on the road for two for the duration of the season.
Tarleton State Volleyball will start off the season at home on Aug. 25 at the Texan Invitational Tournament. The Texans will then travel to San Antonio, Texas, for two days of tournament play at the UTSA Tournament on Sept. 1-2.
The following weekend, Sept. 8-9, the Texans will hit the road for a two-day tournament at UAB in Birmingham, Alabama. On Sept. 12 the Texans will play their lone non-conference match that is not included in a tournament, as they'll travel to Prairie View A&M to take on the Panthers at 6 p.m. CT. Tarleton will play in their final tournament back in Stephenville, beginning Sept. 15 at the Dr. Pam Littleton Classic.
Tarleton will begin conference play on Sept. 21 at 6 p.m. CT at home in Wisdom Volleyball Gym against Utah Valley. On Sept. 23 the Texans will remain at home to take on the Seattle U Redhawks for a midday battle at 1 p.m. CT.
Following their long stretch at home, the Texans will head to the west coast to face the Lancers at California Baptist on Sept. 28 at 9 p.m. CT. Next, the Texans will make their way to Arizona and go head-to-head with Grand Canyon on Sept. 30 at 5 p.m. CT.
On Oct. 5, Tarleton will resume home play at 6 p.m. CT against Utah Tech. The Texans will remain at home Oct. 7 to take on Southern Utah at 1 p.m. CT.
Stephen F. Austin will host the Texans Oct. 12 at 6 p.m. CT, then Tarleton will head to Arlington to play UTA at noon CT on Oct. 14.
Tarleton will host UTRGV Oct. 21 at 1 p.m. CT and will continue their run in Wisdom Volleyball Gym against Abilene Christian on Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. CT.
On Oct. 26, the Texans will hit the road to take on Seattle U at 8 p.m. CT before heading south to play Utah Valley at 2 p.m. CT on Oct. 28.
The Texans and the GCU Lopes will meet again, this time in Stephenville, on Nov. 2 at 6 p.m. CT. Tarleton will host California Baptist for their final home game of the season on Nov. 4 at 1 p.m. CT.
Tarleton State's final two regular season matches will be at UTRGV (Nov. 9 at 6:30 p.m. CT) and at ACU (Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. CT) ahead of the 2023 WAC Volleyball Tournament
