STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Tarleton State Men's Golf completed a successful first season of competition in 2022-23 after nearly 30 years without a program, and now the second year is just around the corner.
Head coach Chance Cain announced the full 2023-24 schedule on Monday, with the Texans competing in 11 total tournaments across the fall and spring.
The fall competition kicks off from Sept. 6-7 in Fort Collins, Colorado, for the Ram Masters Invitational, hosted by Colorado State. Other fall action includes the UAB Graeme McDowell Invitational in Oneonta, Alabama, at Limestone Springs Golf Course on Sept. 24-26. A trip to the pacific northwest in Corvallis, Oregon, for the Oregon State Invitational is set for Oct. 9-10. The last competition of the fall is the Monterrey International Invitational, a tournament in Monterrey, Mexico, hosted by George Washington at Club Campestre Golf Course from Oct. 27-28.
The spring slate gets started on Feb. 12-13 at Bentwater Yacht and Country Club with the Bentwater Intercollegiate hosted by Rice. Next up for the Texans in the month of February is the Wyoming Desert intercollegiate in Palm Desert, California, at Classic Club hosted by Wyoming from Feb. 20-22. From March to April Tarleton will travel to Sugar Land, Texas, for the Colin Montgomerie Invitational, Kerrville, Texas, for The Big Texan, University Place, Washington, for the Seattle U Redhawk Invitational and Carrollton, Texas, for the North Texas Intercollegiate.
The WAC Championship is slated for April 26-28 at Chapparal Pines in Payson, Arizona.
Tarleton will be traveling to play in the Graeme McDowell Intercollegiate, Oregon State Invitational, Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate, Colin Montgomerie Invitational and The Big Texan for a second consecutive season.
All in all, the Texans will play in seven different U.S. states as well as having their first international experience with one tournament in Mexico.
