AWESOME ACKER
  • Sophomore center Faith Acker currently leads the Texans in double-doubles with two this season. Her most recent one came at #24 Nebraska (12/11) with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
  • Acker had the first Tarleton double-double against a nationally-ranked opponent (#24 Nebraska, 12/11) in the Division I Era. Her 11 rebounds were the most by a Texan player against a Power 4 conference opponent in the Division I Era.
  • Following that up with a season-high 18 points while grabbing eight rebounds, Acker helped Tarleton to a 65-55 victory over New Mexico State (12/16). She is averaging 14 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game over her last two contests.
  • She surpassed the 200 career rebounds as just a sophomore against LeTourneau (12/7), having 157 in her freshman season to average over five boards per game.
  • She has blocked four shots in three different games during her Tarleton State career.
  • Acker recorded her first double-double of the season against Delaware (11/29) with 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Texans to victory. This was Acker's fourth career double-double at Tarleton.
  • She currently has the second-most games in the Division I Era with at least four blocks (3).
FANTASTIC FREEBIES
  • Tarleton has made great use of its opportunities from the charity strike this season, hitting over 74% of their free throws as a team. The Texans are in the top 70 in the nation in free throw percentage and lead the WAC in that category.
  • The Texans had three straight games between Nov. 26-30 where they have shot at least 81% from the free throw line. Tarleton went 2-1 during those games and made 39-of-45 free throws for 86.6%.
  • Tarleton shot 10-of-12 from the free throw line in the third quarter for 83.3% against Nicholls (11/30). They went on to go 17-for-19 from the charity strike, shooting a season-high 89.5%. It was the first time since Jan. 11-19, 2023 the Texans have had three consecutive games shooting at least 81% from the free throw line.
  • Tarleton made a season-high 27 free throws against Texas State (12/4) and had 22 made free throws against New Mexico State (12/16).
DOMINATING DEFENSE
  • The Texans' defense has made life difficult for opposing offenses this season. Holding its opponents to just 55.3 points per game, Tarleton is in the top 45 in the nation in scoring defense and leads the WAC in that category.
  • Tarleton held LeTourneau (12/7) to a season-low 34 points en route to a 99-34 win.
  • Tarleton held Delaware to 40 points in its Big Easy Classic opener for a 54-40 victory Nov. 29.
  • Holding HCU (11/26) to just 42 points a few nights earlier, it was the second consecutive game the Texans held their opponent to fewer than 45 points. It was the first time in the Division I Era the Texans held back-to-back opponents to under 45 points.
  • The outing marked the first time since 2013 Tarleton State had two consecutive wins while holding the opposition to under 45 points.
