Tarleton Athletics breaks department D1 GPA record in Fall 2024

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – For the second straight fall semester, Tarleton Athletics' student-athletes have set a new department-wide record in GPA in its NCAA Division I era.

Tarleton State's roughly 400 student-athletes averaged a Fall 2024 semester GPA of 3.27. That's a new program record since beginning their NCAA Division I era, surpassing the Texans' 3.23 GPA in the Fall of 2023.

A fifth of Tarleton's student-athletes posted a perfect 4.0 this semester, nearly half posted a GPA of 3.5 or better, and almost three-quarters finished with a 3.0 or better.

Among the 15 sports categories (men's and women's track and field each counts for both indoor and outdoor), the Tarleton women's soccer team had the best GPA with a program-record 3.80. They were among seven sports to post term record GPA's, along with beach volleyball (3.69), women's golf (3.68), volleyball (3.57), women's track and field (3.34), men's track and field (3.28), and men's basketball (3.11).
