Tarleton State Volleyball and Soccer will lead the charge at home this week, while both golf programs plus cross country are on the road, and football has a bye week. Texan Volleyball will host UT Arlington on Tuesday at 6 p.m., then North Alabama on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Wisdom Gym. Texan Soccer's week is highlighted by a Sunday match against rival Abilene Christian at 1 p.m.
 
TEXAN VOLLEYBALL
After a 3-match tournament at North Texas this past weekend, Texan Volleyball returns home to Wisdom Gym to open conference play. Their first match of the week will be on Tuesday at 6 p.m. vs UT Arlington on National Ice Cream Day. The first 100 fans to arrive will receive a free ice cream cone, courtesy of Baskin Robbins. Next, the Texans will host North Alabama on Saturday at 1 p.m. for a Hawaiian Day match, presented by Tarleton Alumni Association. Early arriving fans will receive free light up purple leis to wear during the game. There will also be a Hawaiian/tropical themed bounce house/inflatable slide set up inside Wisdom Gym during the match, as well as other fun Hawaiian themed activities and decorations.
 
TEXAN SOCCER
Texan Soccer is set to hit the road this Thursday at 7 p.m. CT to take on Central Arkansas for their first conference match of the season. The Texans are currently 2-2-5, coming off of their first win at home, and have a five-match unbeaten active streak. Following the match against Central Arkansas, the Texans will return home to take on Abilene Christian on Sunday at 1 p.m. for the annual Purple Out match. Early arriving fans will receive a "Texans Are Here" vuvuzela stadium horn. There will also be a postgame Youth Soccer Clinic, hosted by the Texan Soccer team themselves. The clinic is free for all kids ages 3-12, and participants should bring their cleats, shin guards and a water bottle.
 
TEXAN WOMEN'S GOLF
Tarleton State Women's Golf is set for their second tournament of their fall slate. The Texans are competing in Bozeman, Montana, in the Yellowstone Intercollegiate at the Riverside Country Club. The six-women squad will compete in a pair of rounds on Monday with the final round on Tuesday. After leading the Texans in the first event of the year at the Tulane Classic, freshman Filippa Mortensen was named the UAC Women's Golfer of the Week. She placed 14th overall shooting +6, 222, in her Texan debut. In all, a trio of Texans posted top-20 finishes in the opener two weeks ago.
 
TEXAN MEN'S GOLF
Tarleton State Men's Golf is set for their second tournament of their fall slate. The Texans are competing in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, in Eastern Washington's National Reserve Invitational. In Tarleton State's first tournament from Sept. 9-10, the Texans placed 15th in the Ram Masters, played at Fort Collins Country Club, hosted by Colorado State. Tarleton State had the second best Round 2 score in the 16-team field, shooting +4, sandwiched by +19 marks in each Round 1 and Round 3, putting them at +42 for the event. Tarleton State's four returners were the leaders on the board for the first event this season. Drew Ironside led the Texans at +7 (75-68-74), placing tied-28th. His -2 (68) Round 2 card was the tied-sixth best across the two-day event among the 92-man field.
 
TEXAN CROSS COUNTRY
Tarleton State Cross Country will compete in their second meet of the season at the OSU Jamboree on Saturday. The Texans will head to Stillwater, Oklahoma, for the first time in the Division I era to compete in the meet. The site of the Big 12 Championships, many nationally-ranked cross country squads are expected to be in the field including the reigning NCAA Men's champions and host, Oklahoma State. Freshman Ava Tannehill led the Texan women in their season opener three weeks ago at the John McKenzie Invitational and was tabbed the UAC Women's Freshman Runner of the Week for her efforts. Diego Flores placed fifth overall to lead the Texan men.
