There will be three straight days of home events between Tarleton State Volleyball and Soccer in Stephenville, with Texan Volleyball playing its Pink Out game on Thursday at 6 p.m. against Utah Tech, followed by Military Appreciation games for both Texan Soccer and Volleyball. Tarleton State Soccer will host Abilene Christian on Friday at 7 p.m., and Texan Volleyball will play against Southern Utah on Saturday at 1 p.m.
TEXAN VOLLEYBALL just defeated the reigning conference champs at home, knocking off UT Arlington in a five-set affair to improve to 8-7 overall and 2-1 in conference play. The Texans are now tied-second in the WAC, with a pair of matches against Utah Tech and Southern Utah this week at Wisdom Gym. Utah Tech is the only remaining undefeated team in WAC play at 3-0, plus the Trailblazers are 12-3 overall. The Thunderbirds, meanwhile, are having an opposite season, sitting at 2-12 overall and 1-2 in the WAC. The Texans will play Thursday at 7 p.m. against Utah Tech for their Pink Out, with free pink pom poms available for early arriving fans. On Saturday it's Military Appreciation at 1 p.m., with free koozies for early arriving fans and half-price off of all drinks at the concessions for active duty military members.
TEXAN SOCCER just took down Utah Tech at home this past Sunday 4-3, and the Texans will end their three-game homestand on Friday against rival Abilene Christian at 7 p.m. The Texans and Wildcats are 1-1-1 against each other in the series history, with Tarleton State winning 2-0 last year. It will be a Friday night affair on the pitch in Stephenville on Military Appreciation, with free koozies available to early arriving fans, plus half-price off of all drinks at the concessions for active duty military members.
TEXAN FOOTBALL is now 6-0 on the season, one of three 6-0 NCAA Division I programs and one of two 6-0 FCS programs. The Texans maintained their No. 3 ranking in both major national polls, and now head to St. George, Utah, to take on Utah Tech on Saturday at 7 p.m. CT. The Texans enter the game on an offensive onslaught, scoring 50+ points in four straight games for the first time in program history.
TEXAN TENNIS just swept the WAC's first monthly awards, with Marissa Minetti earning WAC Singles Player of the Month after going 6-0 in September, plus Emma Persson and Clara Sobius taking Doubles Players of the Month after going 5-1. Now the Texans head to Fort Worth for the ITA Regional Championships, one of the biggest events of the fall season. Depending on how the team does, the Texans could be playing in the event through Sunday, with the first day on Thursday.
TEXAN WOMEN'S GOLF is headed to the Midwest for the Marilynn Smith Invitational hosted by Kansas at Lawrence Country Club on Monday and Tuesday. The Texans will be one of two teams in the 14-team field from the WAC joining California Baptist. The Texans will be competing with the same five they sent to Eastern Washington for the Kalispel Invitational. Gina Chen posted her best finish as a Texan two weeks ago, finishing in the top 10 for the first time. She placed seventh overall and carded a pair of two-under par, 70 stroke rounds. She will be slated in the first slot for the first time this season.
THE TODD WHITTEN SHOW will be back on Thursday at 12 p.m., live at Triple Crowd Ford, with free pizza provided by Cicis for all in attendance. Shows will commence every Thursday the rest of the season except for when Tarleton State Football has its final bye week in November. The Todd Whitten Show, presented by Triple Crown Ford, will broadcast live from 12-12:30 p.m. in the lobby of Triple Crown Ford, located at 2975 W. Washington St. in Stephenville. The weekly radio show featuring Texan Football head coach Todd Whitten will air on the flagship station of Tarleton State Athletics, KTRL 90.5 FM in Stephenville, Texas, and worldwide at TarletonSports.com/Watch.
