Battle for 1st place in WAC features Texans, Trailblazers Thursday night in St. George

TEXAN VOLLEYBALL MATCH WEEK: Tarleton State hits the road for a pivotal showdown at Utah Tech as the Texans continue their push in the hunt for the WAC Championship title. With every match carrying postseason implications, Tarleton State looks to keep its momentum rolling behind a balanced attack and a defense that has tightened at the right time. The Trailblazers present a tough test on their home court, but the Texans enter the matchup focused, battle-ready, and determined to take another crucial step toward securing their place at the top of the conference standings. 

Quick points: 

    •    The winner of Thursday night's match will tie Utah Valley for first in the WAC at 9-2 with one match to play.

    •    The Texans just swept ACU to mark their sixth straight win. 

    •    Madison Frank led the Texans against the Wildcats with nine kills. 

    •    Madison Rice-Locket picked up a season-high 21.5 points in the 3-2 victory over UVU last Thursday, notching a double-double with 15 kills and 11 digs along with four total blocks and three aces. 

    •    Madison Rice-Locket led the Texans in their first match against the Trailblazers with 13 kills and two aces. 

    •    Breannah Peterson also recorded 12 kills in the Texans' first match against UTU. 

    •    The Texans led in aces 6-5 in their first match against UTU. 

    •    LaNeah Lara earned WAC Player of the Week honors on Nov 2 after her career-high performace at UTA with 25 kills. 

    •    Emma Burke also earned WAC Player of the Week honors for the match week of October 19th. 

    •    Morgan Carter is currently second in the WAC for digs with 349 digs. 

    •    LaNeah Lara is currently 8th in the WAC for kills with 215 kills.
