Tarleton State Tennis takes on Conference USA foe La Tech Sunday

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Tarleton State Tennis will play the second match of its three-match homestand on Sunday at 12 p.m., facing Conference USA foe La Tech at the Tarleton Tennis Facility.

The match is now at 12 p.m., a change from the previous first serve time of 11 a.m.

The Texans picked up their eighth win of the season on Thursday with a victory over Tyler Junior College 7-0. Tarleton State did not lose a set in Thursday's match.

Reigning WAC Doubles Team of the Week Maretha Burger and Emma Persson won six of the seven games played on Court 1 to cruise to a 6-1 doubles victory on Thursday. The duo improved their record to 9-1 on the season.

Tarleton State clinched the doubles point on Thursday with a victory on Court 2 from senior Noelia Lorca and junior Ximena Morales. Lorca/Morales defeated Tyler Junior College's Sylvie Peart/Sherin Scheerle 6-2 on Court 2, improving to 4-1 as a doubles duo.

Obtaining the WAC Singles Player of the Week award on Tuesday, Lorca continued to showcase her dominance on Thursday. Lorca only dropped two games on Court 1, defeating Amelia Devlin 6-1, 6-1 to move her singles record to 5-1 on the season on Thursday. Lorca, the WAC Fall Invitational singles champion, picked up her 23rd singles win in a Texan uniform.

Freshman Maria Castano picked up her fourth bagel (6-0 set) of the season in set one and was victorious on Court 2 with a 6-0, 6-3 win on Thursday.

Burger made her second appearance of the season in singles and dominated action with a 6-1, 6-0 win on Court 4 against Tyler JC. Junior Clara Sobius won her sixth singles match of the season with a 6-3, 7-5 victory on Court 3, helping the Texans clinch the match on Thursday.

Sunday's match will be streamed on WAC International and live scoring will be available on iOnCourt. Free admission is offered for all home Tarleton State Tennis matches.
