Gallaher earns All-WAC Second Team honors

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Tarleton State Men's Golf senior Carson Gallaher has been named All-WAC Second Team, the conference announced Tuesday. 

Gallaher finished his collegiate career tied for the most top 10 finishes in the program's Division I Era with five, earning two in his senior season. Tarleton State has now had a player selected on the All-WAC Team in every season in the Division I Era. 

Compiling four top 20 finishes and a stroke average of 73.3, Gallaher finished tied for fourth at the WAC Championship. He shot a 1-under-par 71 in each of the first two rounds of the WAC Championship, putting him on top of the leaderboard heading into the final round. 

Having his best 18-hole performance of the season with a 5-under-par 67 in the first round of the Desert Intercollegiate, Gallaher followed up with a 3-under par 69 and a 1-under-par 71 to tie for sixth place. He was named WAC Men's Golfer of the Week on Feb. 27 after his 9-under-par performance at the Desert Intercollegiate. 

Prior to his arrival in Stephenville, Gallaher spent two seasons at UTSA and appeared in eight tournaments overall. He posted two top 20 results, including a bronze medal finish at the San Antonio Shootout.

The New Braunfels, Texas, native was a three-time First Team All-District honoree at New Braunfels high school and set new program records in single-round score and tournament score. The District Freshman of the Year led the Unicorns to back-to-back district runner-up finishes. During his junior career, he posted more than a dozen top 10 finishes on the Southern Texas PGA Junior Golf circuit. 

Tarleton State completed the 2024-25 season with three top 10 finishes as a team, five individual top 10 performances and 12 top 20 individual performances. The Texans finished in the top four as a team at the WAC Championship and had at least two top 10 individual finishers in the conference tournament. It is the second straight season Tarleton State has finished in the top four as a team and had at least two individuals place in the top 10 at the WAC Championship.
