WEEK AT A GLANCE: Tarleton State Men’s Basketball hosts ‘White Out’ and ‘Military Appreciation’

Tarleton State's campus has been shut down due to ice, and it will be three straight days of a Code Purple on Wednesday. On Thursday, Tarleton State Men's Basketball will hopefully welcome Texan students back to normal with the first of two home games on the week, a "White Out" as early arriving fans receive free T-shirts.

TEXAN MEN'S BASKETBALL will have a pair of home games this week, the first on Thursday against Utah Valley at 7 p.m. at the EECU Center. It's a "White Out" for the Texans as they encourage fans to wear white, with early arriving fans set to receive free T-shirts. Then on Saturday at 4 p.m., the Texans will host Utah Tech on Military Appreciation. Tarleton State will give away Texan branded koozies, courtesy of The Corps of Cadets, and celebrate our nation's heroes throughout the contest. Tarleton State's baseball and softball programs will be signing posters for fans pregame on Saturday on the concourse of the EECU Center to celebrate their seasons starting soon. Tarleton State MBB is 11-9 overall on the year and 8-2 at home this season.

TEXAN WOMEN'S BASKETBALL will be on the road twice this week, first at Utah Valley on Thursday at 7 p.m. CT, then at Utah Tech on Saturday at 3 p.m. CT. The Texans are riding an active three-game winning streak, as they just swept their homestand with wins over Southern Utah, Utah Tech and UT Arlington. Tarleton State is 10-8 overall and 4-3 in conference play this season. The Texans are a single win away from reaching their 1,000th win as a senior college, plus a win away from matching their season-long winning streak at four games.

TEXAN TRACK AND FIELD will compete in Houston's Robert Platt Invitational on Friday-Saturday, at Yeoman Fieldhouse in Houston. Tarleton State Men's and Women's Track and Field programs each ranked seventh in the first USTFCCCA South Central Regional rankings of the indoor track and field season. The Texan Women were also ranked in the top-30 nationally, slotting in at 29th overall. Last season, in the final indoor rankings, the men were ranked 10th and the women's squad was ranked 14th in the region. The Purple and White had not been ranked in the top 15 of the region prior to last season.

THE 3RD ANNUAL TARLETON STATE ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME GOLF TOURNAMENT, presented by Focused Care Partners, will be Sunday at Top Golf in Fort Worth, from 12-3 p.m. This unique event brings together Tarleton State alumni, fans, and community members for an afternoon of friendly competition, networking, and celebration, all while supporting Texan Athletics and the Tarleton State Athletics Hall of Fame.

TEXAN TENNIS originally had two home matches scheduled this week, but they were both canceled due to projected low temperatures, it was announced on Tuesday. Instead of Texan Tennis hosting UTSA on Saturday and Stephen F. Austin on Sunday, Tarleton State will next play Friday, Feb. 6, at 12 p.m. against Oral Roberts at the Tarleton State Tennis Facility.

THE TARLETON STATE BASKETBALL RADIO SHOWS were canceled this week due to scheduled games, and stayed canceled due to ice. The shows will resume at The Purple Goat on Monday, Feb. 2, from 6-7 p.m., with regular Monday weekly shows through the rest of the season (except March 9).
