Stephenville will be filled with Tarleton State Athletics games this weekend, with 10 softball games, three baseball games, two tennis matches and a basketball game. The action starts Friday at 10 a.m. and goes through Sunday afternoon. On Saturday, Valentine's Day, the Texans will be giving away "I Love Tarleton State" shirts at each venue to celebrate what we all love most.

TEXAN SOFTBALL hardly could've started its season any better, rolling off five wins in five games in the season opening tournament in North Carolina this past weekend. This is the Texans' second 5-0 start in their NCAA Division I era, their first since 2022 when they started 10-0. Tarleton State will now host its first of two tournaments this weekend, the Whataburger Invitational, from Friday through Sunday. There will be 10 total games at the Whataburger Invitational; four games on Friday, four games on Saturday, and two games on Sunday between Tarleton State, South Dakota State, Stephen F. Austin and Colgate. The Texans will play in five of those games, facing SFA on Friday at 3 p.m., Colgate on Friday at 5:30 p.m., South Dakota State on Saturday at 3 p.m., Colgate on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and SFA on Sunday at 12 p.m. The other five neutral site games are South Dakota State vs. SFA on Friday at 10 a.m., South Dakota State vs. Colgate on Friday at 12:30 p.m., SFA vs. South Dakota State on Saturday at 10 a.m., SFA vs. Colgate on Saturday at 12:30 p.m., and Colgate vs. South Dakota State on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. An all-tournament pass is $40 for reserved seats and $30 for general admission. There are also single-day passes available, priced at $30 for a single-day in reserved seating, and $20 for a single-day in GA.

TEXAN BASEBALL begins its 2026 campaign this weekend, hosting three games against Le Moyne. Tarleton State's season-opener will be on Friday at 3 p.m. against the Dolphins. The two will also match up on Saturday at 3 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. The Texans enter 2026 with some top preseason individual honors, with infielder Slade McCloud, catcher Sergio Guerra and right-handed pitcher Brian Panneton all on prominent national preseason watch lists. Reserved seats are just $15 per game for both Tarleton State Baseball and Softball games this season, with $10 general admission seats available for both programs, as well.

TEXAN TENNIS has rattled off four straight wins, all at home, combining for a 23-1 score in those wins since Jan. 22. Tarleton State will conclude its six-match homestand this weekend, facing Texas State on Saturday at 11 a.m. and Incarnate Word on Sunday at 11 a.m. Tarleton State has extended its winning streak at home to 15 matches, with the streak dating back to the 2023-24 season. The Texans are a combined 23-6 in singles this season, with Aya Ishii and Ximena Morales the leaders in wins (five) and Marrisa Minetti unblemished at 4-0.

TEXAN WOMEN'S BASKETBALL will take on rival Abilene Christian at the EECU Center on Saturday at 2 p.m. Tarleton State just completed the largest comeback in its NCAA Division I era and defeated Southern Utah 59-57 this past Saturday. That improved the Texans to 6-6 in conference play, fourth in the WAC and 1.5 games back of the Thunderbirds. The Texans and Wildcats have played two competitive games in Abilene already this season, a three-point game and a five-point game. To promote and celebrate this game further, the Texans will be giving away tickets to a concert that night at Twisted J Live, played by American rapper from Bay City, Texas, That Mexican OT. Students will randomly win tickets throughout the week on campus, there will be a ticket giveaway at the game for students, plus a special halftime show with participants receiving free tickets, as well.

TEXAN MEN'S BASKETBALL just snapped a seven-game skid and pulled out a 62-59 win at Southern Utah this past Saturday. The Texans will next head to Abilene to take on the Wildcats on Saturday at 3 p.m. It will mark the first of two matchups in three days between the two, as Tarleton State will turn around and host ACU on Monday at 7 p.m. at the EECU Center. TEXAN TRACK AND FIELD will compete in their final regular season indoor meets this weekend, at Texas Tech's Jarvis Scott Invite on Friday and Saturday, and at the same time, at Arkansas' Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Four Tarleton State Track and Field athletes were just recognized by the WAC as athletes of the week, and competing for just three weekends, the Texans have earned seven WAC weekly awards. Lauren Roy was tabbed the WAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week after winning the 200 meters in record-setting fashion at the Stan Scott Invite, becoming the first Texan to run sub-23 seconds in program history. She clocked in at 22.89 seconds, the second fastest time in the NCAA and the fastest in the WAC this indoor season. Ca'terrin Cox broke his own school record in the 60-meter hurdles in the finals at the Stan Scott Invite at 7.82 seconds, the fastest in the WAC this season. Prestina Ochonogor won the women's long jump at the JD Martin Invitational, leaping 6.40 meters to take the crown. Her leap leads the WAC this indoor season and posted the 10th best mark in the NCAA this indoor season. Lokesh Sathyanathan took home the title with his best jump of the season, 7.83 meters. With that leap, he now leads the WAC and ranks ninth in the NCAA.

TEXAN MEN'S GOLF opens the spring portion of their season Monday-Tuesday at the Bentwater Intercollegiate at the Miller Golf Course. Other prominent golf teams will also be attending the Bentwater Intercollegiate Tournament, including VCU, Southern, Houston Christian, Incarnate Word, Oakland, Southeastern Louisiana, Prairie View A&M, Sam Houston, East Texas A&M, Ohio, Central Arkansas, Baylor and Texas Southern.

TICKETS are available for all of the upcoming home events online at TarletonSports.com/tickets. The Tarleton State Ticket Office is located on the west side entrance of Memorial Stadium. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. All Tarleton State students receive free admission through the Corq App. All admission to soccer, tennis, beach volleyball, golf and track and field events are free.
