CORDOVA, Tenn. – Tarleton State Men's Golf returns to action this week as the Texans will compete in the Memphis Intercollegiate beginning Monday at the Colonial Country Club.

The two-day tournament will feature a 54-hole format, with 36 holes scheduled for Monday followed by the final round on Tuesday. The event will be played on the Tournament Course, a par-72 layout that has hosted numerous collegiate and professional events.

Redshirt freshman Alvaro Pastor is coming off his second individual title in the Texans' last tournament, winning the All-American Intercollegiate Individual Championship.  Along with that, Pastor also earned his second WAC Golfer of the Week award and is now No. 112 in national college golf rankings.

After winning the individual title at the Golden Nugget Invitational earlier this month, Pastor became the first player in program history to capture first place in back-to-back events. Pastor tallied 12 birdies in the first two rounds, including eight in the second round for a 6-under-par 66 in the Texans' last tournament. He closed the All-American Intercollegiate with a 1-under-par 71 in the final round, being the only player in the event to finish with an under-par final score.

Junior Juan Ballester tied for 6th place, collecting seven birdies for a 1-under-par 71 in the final round to push himself into the top 10. Ballester's sixth-place finish marked his first top 10 finish of the season and his best placement as a Texan. Sophomores Luis Buech and Kellen Young will also be in this week's lineup, with freshman Maximilian Bjornstrom rounding out the Texans' five player card.

Tarleton State enters the tournament following a strong performance at the All-American Intercollegiate, where the Texans placed third with a 54-hole score of 899 as a team.

Tee times for the opening round will begin Monday morning at 8:45 a.m. Live scoring will be available throughout the tournament through Scoreboard by Clippd.
