Tarleton State Tennis to host Alumni Match April 11

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Tarleton State Tennis is inviting all Texan alumni to its Alumni Match against in-state rival ACU Saturday, April 11 at 1 p.m. at the Tarleton State Tennis Facility.

The Texans are offering free food before and during the match starting at 12:45 p.m. The match will also provide easy access for supporting Tarleton State's baseball and softball teams playing at home on the same day in addition to the football team's spring game at Memorial Stadium.

Tarleton State's final home match of 2026 will also be Senior Day, honoring the Texans' four seniors prior to the match.

"Saturday, April 11 is a huge day for Tarleton State Athletics in general and we are excited to welcome all university alumni back for our final match of the regular season," head coach Elianne Douglas-Miron said. "Our alumni are what make this university and the Stephenville community special and we want to use this day as an opportunity to show our appreciation. Our team, especially our four seniors, deserve to play their final home match as a Texan in front of a capacity crowd. We hope you and your families will join us for this special occasion."

Early RSVP and registration is encouraged. Interested alumni can reach out to assistant coach Abigail Wild (awild@tarleton.edu).

The staggered schedule on April 11 will allow fans the opportunity to not only support Tarleton State Tennis, but several programs competing in Stephenville that day. Softball will play Southern Utah at 12 p.m. while baseball will also take on Abilene Christian at 3 p.m. Tarleton State Football's Spring Game is set to kickoff at 4 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.

The Texans are currently undefeated at the Tarleton State Tennis Facility in 2026, winning their 17th straight home match. Tarleton State has yet to lose a match since the opening of the Tarleton State Tennis Facility and has not lost a match in Stephenville since the 2023-24 season.

Under Douglas-Miron in five years at the Division I level, Tarleton State has won the WAC Coach of the Year award, the WAC Player of the Year award, the WAC Freshman of the Year award twice, and 18 All-Conference honors (eight Singles All-WAC First Team, one Doubles All-WAC First Team, seven Singles All-WAC Second Team, two Doubles All-WAC Second Team). The Texans have also earned 57 midseason monthly or weekly awards (six Singles Player of the Month, three Doubles Team of the Month, 23 Singles Player of the Week, and 25 Doubles Team of the Week).
