STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Tarleton State Men's basketball head coach
Eric Haut announced the signing of Franck Emmou who will be donning the Purple and White for the 2026-27 season.
Originally from Arlington, Emmou is a 6-5 guard that attended Mansfield Summit High School. After graduating in 2023, he spent his freshman season at UMBC during the 2023-24 season. He then transferred from the Retrievers to Texas State for a pair of seasons, redshirting his first year in San Marcos. After a redshirt-sophomore season for the Bobcats, he entered the portal to join in third program in four seasons. He will join the Texans for their second season in the EECU Center with returning players
Leroy Kelly IV,
Kade Douglas and
Matyas Vrabel and transfer signee, Caleb Blackwell.
"We are so excited to welcome Franck Emmou into our program," said Haut. "He's a guy that really fits our style of play with his ability to handle the ball, make the right reads, and score efficiently at all three levels. Franck brings a well-rounded skill set that we really value and believe his best basketball is still very much in front of him. But beyond his talent on the court, what stood out to us even more was who he is as a person. Franck is a high-character young man, with a great work ethic who truly embraces being a great teammate. He competes the right way, he's about winning, and he understands what it takes to contribute to a successful team culture. Franck is going to have a tremendous impact both on and off the court, and we're excited to get to work with him every day. At this time I'd like to welcome Franck and his mom, Dianna, into our Texan basketball family."
Throughout his two collegiate seasons, Emmou has recorded 437 points, 104 rebounds, 77 assists, 65 made triples and 78 made free throws. He is averaging 7.2 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists in his first two seasons. He has played in 61 games while making 10 starts.
"I chose Tarleton State because there was a huge opportunity to win, develop, and build relationships that will last me a lifetime," said Emmou. "During my time in Stephenville I met great people and experienced a vibrant, friendly, and welcoming student body. That made it really hard to not to want to be a part of that day in and day out."
