Tarleton State Men’s Golf on the road again to compete at Tiger Intercollegiate

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Tarleton State Men's Golf returns to action this week as the Texans travel to Columbia, Missouri, to compete in the Tiger Intercollegiate beginning Monday at the Club at Old Hawthorne. 

The two-day tournament will feature a 54-hole format, with 36 holes scheduled for Monday followed by the final 18-hole round on Tuesday. This tournament will be held at the Mizzou home course.

Tarleton State enters the tournament following a sixth-place finish at the Memphis Intercollegiate. The Texans had a 54-hole score of 887 at 23-over-par as a team, giving them their seventh consecutive top 10 placement this season. 

Sophomore Luis Buech tied for sixth in Memphis Intercollegiate. Having 11 birdies in the tournament as well as an eagle in the second round in Cordova, Tennessee. Buech had a good final two rounds in the last tournament, shooting 2-under-par in the second round and 1-under-par in the first round to push him into the top 10. 

Freshmen Alvaro Pastor and Maximilian Bjornstorm also placed in the top 20 last week at the Memphis Intercollegiate. Pastor earned his sixth straight top 15 finish this season with 10 birdies on the weekend shooting 1-under-par in the third round to push himself into the top 15. Bjornstorm picked up his third top 20 finish this season, tying for 20th. Shooting an even par in the second round in Cordova kept him in the top 20 as he shot nine birdies in the tournament. 

Junior Juan Ballester tied for 53rd with a score of 233 with 11 birdies in the tournament. Sophomore Kellen Young, who has played in every tournament for the Texans this season, tied for 56th with Wright State's Shane Ochs shooting a 235. 

Tee times for the opening round will begin Monday morning, with live scoring available throughout the tournament online using Scoreboard by Clippd.
