Tarleton State Tennis plays final two home matches against UNT, ACU starting Friday

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Tarleton State Tennis will play their final two home matches of the 2026 season this weekend, taking on North Texas (Friday at 1 p.m.) and ACU (Saturday at 1 p.m.) at the Tarleton State Tennis Facility.

Friday will be Senior Day, Military Appreciation and its Residential Life Match. Corps of Cadets will grill food for fans and Tarleton State's senior class will be honored with a pre-match ceremony. Saturday's match will include street tacos and a water bottle giveaway. Admission is free to both matches.

Tarleton State looks to extend its home match win streak, winning 18 straight home matches entering Friday's contest. The Texans are undefeated at home with a 7-0 mark in 2026. Tarleton State has not lost a home match since the 2023-24 season.

The Texans' seniors for 2026 include Ximena Morales, Adeliya Mukhutdinova, Clara Sobius, and Emma Persson. Morales has been one of the Texans' top players in 2026, posting a 14-3 singles record and a 12-5 doubles mark. The Guatemala City, Guatemala, native is a four-time WAC Doubles Player of the Week award winner and was named WAC Singles Player of the Week on March 3.

Mukhutdinova's impact has been immediate, being named to the All-WAC Second Team in 2025 after posting a 13-5 singles record. Mukhutdinova has posted five singles wins and a pair of doubles wins as a senior.

Persson posted one of the best freshman campaigns in program history and has added to her resume since. She earned WAC Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors in 2023 and was named to the All-WAC Doubles Team in 2025. The senior from Sweden is a four-time WAC Singles Player of the Week winner and has won the WAC Doubles Player of the Week award seven times.

Sobius has 34 singles wins and 32 doubles wins in her career and has been a key contributor for the Texans in the last four years. The Laval, Quebec, Canada, native is a two-time member of the WAC All-Tournament Team and helped the Texans clinch the doubles point at the 2025 WAC Tournament, winning the tiebreak against UTA.
