Week 4 of Tarleton State Athletics' Fall 2026 season features Texan Football kicking off the season against Prairie View A&M, while Texan Volleyball plays in its first tournament of the season at the Wildcat Classic, and Texan Soccer plays back-to-back home matches against UTRGV and Lamar.
 
TEXAN FOOTBALL
The Texans begin their season at home on Saturday at 8 p.m. against Prairie View A&M with the inaugural "Chancellor's Cup" game. This will be the Purple Out game for this season. Fans are encouraged to wear purple and there will be 10,000 purple rally towels given away to first arriving fans. The game will also feature the "New Student Run" with all new students helping to lead the Texans onto the field prior to kickoff. Following their home opener vs Prairie View A&M, the Texans will hit the road for their first away game of the season, as they head to Ohio to take on Bowling Green on Saturday, Sept. 5, at 11 a.m. CT.
 
TEXAN SOCCER
The Texans played their first home game of the season on Thursday in front of a near-capacity crowd, for its first look at a revamped 2026 squad. The Texans finished with a draw, 1-1, against the Mountain West Conference's UTEP, their second draw in program history against a Group of Six team. This week, Texan Soccer will take on UTRGV on Thursday at 7 p.m. for their second home match of the season. It will be National Burger Day, and the Grumps truck will be onsite, handing out free burgers to first arriving fans. Following the match vs UTRGV, the Texans will host Lamar on Sunday at 5 p.m. for the Military Appreciation Match. The complex will be decorated with American flags and there will be "America 250th" t-shirts given away to first arriving fans.
 
TEXAN VOLLEYBALL
The Texans hosted an exhibition home match vs. Dallas Baptist this past Friday. This week, they'll hit the road for Tucson, Arizona, to play in the Wildcat Classic. In their first match of the tournament, they'll take on UC Santa Barbara on Friday at 5:30 p.m. CT. They will then play Arizona on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT, and then Prairie View A&M on Sunday, Aug. 30 at 12 p.m. CT.

TICKETS are available for all of the upcoming home events online at TarletonSports.com/tickets. The Tarleton State Ticket Office is located on the west side entrance of Memorial Stadium. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. All admission to soccer, tennis, beach volleyball, golf and track and field events are free. Tarleton State students can receive free access to all Texan regular season home games. Students must claim an all access pass online in order to do so. Students can visit TarletonSports.evenue.net, select the tab "Student Tickets," sign in with SSO using their Tarleton State username and password, click My Account, then click "My Access Pass." Save the pass to a mobile phone and scan it at the gate. Tarleton State Athletics recommends adding the mobile ticket to the mobile wallet for quick access at the gate entering games this season. For staff and faculty to claim free tickets, log in or create an account at TarletonSports.evenue.net using their assigned Tarleton State email address. To purchase tickets before the 10-day window, use a separate email account or call the ticket office at (254) 968-1832. Faculty and staff will be unable to see or purchase tickets ahead of time while logged in using their Tarleton State email address. Any tickets beyond the two free can be purchased at full price. Free faculty and staff tickets provided by athletics cannot be resold or redistributed.
