Tarleton State Athletics will all be on the road this week, covering football, cross country, soccer and volleyball. Action starts Wednesday and goes through Sunday.
 
TEXAN FOOTBALL
Coming off of a season-opening win against Prairie View A&M in front of over 24,000 fans in a nationally televised game, Texan Football (1-0) will hit the road for Ohio to take on Bowling Green for their first road game of the season. The Texans look to improve to 2-0 on the season as they take on the Falcons at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday at Doyt L. Perry Stadium. Following their matchup vs Bowling Green, the Texans will head east to Louisiana for their second road game of the season as they take on McNeese in Lake Charles on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 6 p.m. CT.
 
TEXAN CROSS COUNTRY
Tarleton State Men's and Women's Cross Country will open their season at the John McKenzie Invitational hosted by TCU on Friday. The men enter the season ranked 14^th in the South Central Region preseason poll, matching their finish at last season's South Central Regional Meet. The Texan men are anchored by three returners including Diego Flores who led the Texans at the 2025 South Central Championships. On the women's side, five freshmen bring new faces to the Texans along with a trio of returners and a transfer from last season. It marks the fourth-consecutive year that the Texans opened their season at the John McKenzie Invitational.
 
TEXAN SOCCER
Texan Soccer will hit the road to take on Incarnate Word on Thursday at 7 p.m. in San Antonio, then Houston Christian on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Houston. Both matches will be free admission and both will be broadcast on ESPN+.
 
TEXAN VOLLEYBALL
Texan Volleyball competed in their first tournament of the season this past week at the Wildcat Classic. The Texans took on UC Santa Barbara, Arizona and Prairie View A&M in the tournament, sweeping the final match vs. the Panthers. This week, the Texans head to Houston to take on Rice in a midweek matchup on Wednesday at 6 p.m. before moving on to San Antonio for the UTSA Invitational, their second tournament of the season. The Texans will take on UTSA on Friday at 6 p.m. and then Incarnate Word on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Texans will return home to host the Tarleton State Invitational Sept. 10-12, which will bring Sam Houston, Denver and Texas A&M Corpus Christi to Stephenville.
 
THE TODD WHITTEN SHOW 
The Todd Whitten Show will be back on Thursday at 12 p.m., live at Triple Crowd Ford, with free pizza provided by Cicis for all in attendance. Shows will commence every Thursday the rest of the season except for when Tarleton State Football has its final bye week. The Todd Whitten Show, presented by Triple Crown Ford, will broadcast live from 12-12:30 p.m. in the lobby of Triple Crown Ford, located at 2975 W. Washington St. in Stephenville. The weekly radio show featuring Texan Football head coach Todd Whitten will air on the flagship station of Tarleton State Athletics, KTRL 90.5 FM in Stephenville, Texas, and worldwide at TarletonSports.com/Watch.
