Tarleton State Volleyball starts Texas road trip in Lubbock, faces Texas Tech Tuesday

LUBBOCK, Texas – Tarleton State Volleyball will stay in the Lone Star State for its final four non-conference matches, starting at Texas Tech on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at United Supermarkets Arena.

Tuesday's match will mark the head coaching debut for former ACU head coach, Alisa Blair, at Texas Tech. She was named the interim head coach on Sunday.

Texas Tech will be the second opponent from a Power 4 Conference that Tarleton State faces this season. Tarleton State previously faced Arizona in the Wildcat Classic.

The match will be available to watch on ESPN+ and live stats will be provided through Stat Broadcast.

MAGNIFICENT MASSEY

Senior setter Alexis Massey has been key in 2026 and has posted career-best numbers in the Purple and White.
Massey, a transfer from UTEP, was enrolled at Tarleton State but was not on the volleyball team at the start of the 2026 spring season.
She signed with the Texans later in the semester and has been the Texans' starting setter for the first nine matches.
Massey posted the third 20-20 double-double in Tarleton State's Division I era with a career-high 28 assists and 23 digs against Denver (9/11)
She is just the second player in the Division I era to post a 20-20 double-double in a match (Allison Bryant, 2024).

DINH DOMINATING

Alyssa Dinh was one of seven players selected for the Preseason All-UAC Team. Dinh's placement on the All-UAC Preseason Team marks the third consecutive year the Texans have had representation on a preseason all-conference team.
She had a season-high 11 kills on a .733 hit percentage against Sam Houston (9/10). That hit percentage ranks fifth on the program's all-time list for single match hit percentage.
After missing the first six matches, Dinh quickly took over the Texans and became one of the most impactful front-row players in the WAC last season.
She closed the season with 86 kills and an attacking percentage of .286. Her 1.51 kills per set made her one of the WAC's most efficient attackers.

TOUGH TESTS

Tarleton State Volleyball has challenged itself with its non-conference schedule, especially early on in the season.
The Texans have played two teams that were receiving votes in the AVCA Top 25 Polls (Arizona and Rice), with both matches played on the road.
Tarleton State has five opponents in its non-conference slate that finished in the top 100 in the NCAA's RPI Rankings last year (UCSB, Arizona, Rice, North Texas, West Virginia).
The Texans have three 2025 NCAA Tournament teams on its schedule (Arizona, Rice, Central Arkansas). Arizona and Rice both advanced in the big dance a year ago.
Three of those matches are against Power 4 conference opponents (Arizona, Texas Tech, West Virginia). It is the most matches against Power 4 conference competition since the program became a Division I school.
