COEUR D' ALENE, Idaho – Tarleton State Men's Golf will compete in its second tournament of the fall on Monday-Tuesday, playing in the CDA National Reserve Invitational, hosted by Eastern Washington.
 
There will be 14 teams competing at the Coeur d'Alene National Reserve. The 54-hole tournament starts Monday at 8;30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
 
"We're really excited to get back out there and compete here in Idaho," head coach Brian Dolehide said. "We've got an excellent golf course in front of us and we're ready to get after it. We had a bit of time to work on some strengths and weaknesses we noticed in Colorado. This is a place where we will need to stay patient throughout the day, limit the mistakes and capitalize on our scoring clubs!"
 
In Tarleton State's first tournament from Sept. 9-10, the Texans placed 15th in the Ram Masters, played at Fort Collins Country Club, hosted by Colorado State. Tarleton State had the second best Round 2 score in the 16-team field, shooting +4, sandwiched by +19 marks in each Round 1 and Round 3, putting them at +42 for the event. Tarleton State's four returners were the leaders on the board for the first event this season. Drew Ironside led the Texans at +7 (75-68-74), placing tied-28th. His -2 (68) Round 2 card was the tied-sixth best across the two-day event among the 92-man field. Ironside had five birdies and three bogeys in that round, with a 33 front nine. Nicholas Papacharalambous was tied-47th at +10 (72-75-73). Kellen Young was tied-59th at +12 (78-71-73). Juan Ballester was tied-84th at +18 (79-70-79). Newcomer Owen Prewitt rounded out the Texans in 88th at +22 (74-79-79).
 
For the upcoming tournament, Ironside will be No. 1 in the lineup, Papacharalambous will be No. 2, Young No. 3, Ballester No. 4, and newcomer Noah Sandlin will make his debut at No. 5. Tarleton State's Jace Hulett will also make his debut as an individual.
