BOZEMAN, Mont. — Magda Domine posted her second-consecutive top 20 performance to lead Tarleton State Women's Golf in their second tournament of the fall at the Yellowstone Intercollegiate at the Riverside Country Club.
 
The Texans had a rough start in the first round but recovered in the final two rounds. After starting the event shooting 21-over par and in 10^th at the end of round one, the Texans improved by nine strokes to climb to eighth at the end of the first day. The Purple and White shot 12-over par in the second round and 14 over-par on the final round to end the event in eighth place at 47-over, 911.
 
Domine posted her second-straight top 20 performance to lead the Texans. After a rough start carding a six-over, 78, on her first round, she shot the Texans only under-par round of the event shooting a 71 on the second round of the first day. She finished with a four-over, 76, on the final day to tie for 20^th overall with a nine-over, 225. She tied for the fifth most pars in the entire field recording 37. She also tallied five birdies with three coming on her second round.
 
Gina Chen tied for 22^nd place overall shooting a 10-over, 226. She carded the top round by a Texan after the first 18 holes, with a two-over, 74. She was consistent on her final pair of rounds shooting a 76 on each to end the tournament. Chen recorded a team-best six birdies. Luchi Quiroga was the next best Texan performer tying for 24^th. Quiroga was very consistent throughout her three rounds opening with back-to-back 76's before closing her final round with a 75. In total, she shot an 11-over, 227. Quiroga tied for the most pars by and golfer in the field with 41 and notched a pair of birdies.
 
Filippa Mortensen improved on each of her three rounds. After starting with an 81, she posted a 77 in round two and tied for the Texan lead with a 75 on Tuesday's final round. Mortensen ultimately carded a 17-over, 233 to tie for 44^th overall. Natalia Fiel Ros tied for 63^rd overall shooting a 245. She opened with an 86 followed by a 78 on the first two rounds. She carded an 81 in her final round. Yanin Kongthawornwong competed as an individual for the second-straight tournament tying for 57^th overall and carding a25-over, 245. She opened with a 79 before posting an 80 and 82 on her final two rounds.
 
The host, Montana State took home the team crown shooting a 10-over par, 874. The Bobcats finished with an even par round to take the victory by 12 strokes. Weber State placed second shooting 22-over and North Dakota State placed third at 31-over par.
 
North Dakota's Mallory Uselman took home the individual crown as the only golfer to finish under par at one-under, 215. Uselman started strong with the lowest round of the tournament with a five-under, 67 to open the first round. Weber State's Vienna Scheffer posted a runner-up performance carding a two-over, 218.
 
Tarleton State will not have a long break as they will next compete in five days on Sept. 28 in Manhattan, Kan. at the Powercat Invitational hosted by Kansas State. It will mark the second-consecutive year the Texans have participated in the event.
