TexAnns set to host ENMU

STEPHENVILLE - The Tarleton volleyball team will host Eastern New Mexico on Saturday, Oct. 31, in a Halloween edition Lone Star Conference match.

The TexAnns (8-19, 3-7 LSC) are coming off a 3-0 loss to No. 6 West Texas A&M in Stephenville on Thursday.  The Zias (5-21, 0-11) are coming off a Thursday night loss as well after falling 3-0 on the road to Texas A&M-Kingsville.

ENMU head into Saturday's match having dropped their six previous matches.  The Zias' last win came back on Oct. 6 against Oklahoma Panhandle State.

The Zias have not won a LSC match since Sept. 30, 2006, when ENMU defeated Angelo State 3-2 in Portales, N.M.  Since that time, ENMU has dropped 43 consecutive matches to LSC opponents.

The Zias lead the all-time series 23-6, but have failed to get a win over the TexAnns in the last five meetings.  Tarleton won last year's contest at Greyhound Arena, 3-1, and have not lost to ENMU since Sept. 29, 2005.  The TexAnns are 4-10 against the Zias at Wisdom Gym.

Jessica Kings leads ENMU with 208 kills on the season.  The offense is run by Karen McIntyre who leads the team with 459 assists.  Defensively the Zias are led by Caitlyn Murphy who tops the squad with 519 digs.

Tarleton is led by their versatile senior leader, Shay Gracy, who leads the team with 269 kills, a .232 hitting percentage and 87 total blocks.  Rachel Wolf follows with 249 kills and Erin Lynn is second on the team with 61 total blocks.  Jessie Hartman leads the offense with 787 assists, while Shea McBrearty leads defensively with 444 digs.

First service at Wisdom Gym on Saturday is set for 1 p.m.
