COMMERCE - The Texans will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 16 at Texas A&M-Commerce at 3:30 p.m. as the two teams will play on regional television - TXA 21.

FINDING ANOTHER “W” The Texans are looking for their second “W” of the season, and in front of a good Texas A&M-Commerce crowd and a television audience would be a great place to do so. Tarleton will play at TAMUC at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16 in Commerce. TEXANS ON TELEVISION The Texans game at Texas A&M-Commerce will be on television on TXA 21. The game will be covered by the regional network that is available to over 6.9 million people with over 2,594,000 TV households in north central Texas. PREVIOUS MEETINGS The all-time series is led by Texas A&M-Commerce, 9-8. The Lions won the first eight match-ups, but the Texans took the next seven. The last Lion victory came on Sept. 23, 2006 in Commerce, 14-13. Tarleton won the last outing 24-7 in Stephenville on Sept. 22, 2007. The last Texan victory in Commerce came on Sept. 5, 2005 (17-7). A LOOK AT THE RANKINGS Tarleton is ranked not ranked in either the American Football Coaches Association poll nor the D2Football.com poll. Tarleton was picked No. 18 in the D2Football.com preseason poll, No. 15 in the Sporting News Division II preseason poll and No. 8 in the Lindy's Division II Preseason Poll. TAMUC is not ranked in either poll. PLAYING ON TELEVISION This will be the second game in three years for the Texans on television. Today's game, which is to be broadcast on TXA 21, will be the first time the Texans are on a local market. Tarleton hosted Angelo State in 2008, and the game was sent live to the nation via CBS College Sports Television. Tarleton won that game, 31-24. Tarleton football has also been seen on the national NCAA webcast on several occasions while the Texan men's basketball team was on CSTV for its two trips to the Elite Eight in 2005 and 2006. The TexAnn golf team, which has finished in the top six in the last four years at the NCAA Division II Championships, has been featured on the NCAA Spring Championships show. THEY'VE BEEN EVERYWHERE, MAN The Texans are playing their fifth road game in the first seven contests of the 2010 season.
