EDMOND, Okla. – The Tarleton Texan baseball team will travel to Edmond, Oklahoma over the weekend to face the University of Central Oklahoma Bronchos.
The Texans come into the series after dropping a game to the University of Incarnate Word on Tuesday in San Antonio. They also split a four-game series with the Texas A&M-Kingsville last weekend in Stephenville.
The Bronchos are coming off of a high-scoring 22-17 victory over the University of Science and Arts, after dropping three of four games in a Lone Star Conference series with Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
Junnior Dishmey, the Lone Star Conference Diamond Hitter of the week, continues to dominate the plate, as he finished up last week's five games hitting .647 with eight runs, a double, his first home run of the season, seven runs batted in and two stolen bases.
Ryan Salt comes into the series with a team-leading 27 strikeouts on the year with a 4.59 earned run average. Nathan Lewis leads the team with four saves on the year and a 2.86 earned run average.
Last season the two teams split the series in Stephenville with Tarleton sporting wins of 6-4 and 11-10 while Central Oklahoma had their victories at 8-1 and 11-10.
The two teams will get the series started on Friday with the first pitch slated for 1 p.m.
