Tarleton volleyball begins long road trip with match at Texas Wesleyan

FORTH WORTH – The TexAnns will travel to Fort Worth Tuesday, Sept. 28 to take on the Rams of Texas Wesleyan at 7 p.m. It will be a break from conference play and the start of seven straight road games for Tarleton.

This season, Tarleton is 12-2 overall, with a 2-2 Lone Star Conference record. The TexAnns have won their last three matches, after losing their first two conference contests. Prior to those two defeats, Tarleton had its best start in school history, winning the first 10 matches of the 2010 campaign.

Rachel Wolf leads the TexAnn offense with 159 kills on the season and has hit a .253 percentage, while Flynn Harrell has recorded 100 kills.

Jessie Hartman is the main distributor on offense with 310 assists, averaging 6.60 per game, to go along with Danielle Barker, who has assisted 178 times this season.

Defensively, Catherine Cutbirth has 40 blocks this year, while Monica Hamel has 22 blocks and Rachel Wolf has 21. Shea McBrearty leads the TexAnns with 180 digs, while collecting 20 service aces. Rachel Wolf has added 93 digs and Jessie Hartman has contributed 92 for Tarleton.

Tarleton faces the Rams Tuesday, and then prepares for the Washburn Classic in Topeka, Kan. this weekend.
